Our modern twist on the classic diamond kite. The Stowaway Diamond is 37" tall, but folds into a convenient package that's just over a foot long. Perfect for backpack, briefcase, or that spur-of-the-moment getaway to the great outdoors. Its brilliant fractal-based geometric patterns are dye-sublimated onto colorfast ripstop polyester to create a spectacular piece of flying art that will last for years. To assemble, just pull it out of the case and let the rods spring into their connectors; the spars are connected by bungee cord just like a tent pole so there's nothing to lose and no way to assemble it backwards. The lightweight fiberglass frame and ripstop polyester sail give this kite a wide wind range. Comes complete with everything you need including kite, 200' of Dacron flying line, line winder and travel case. Review: Cool kite, well made, easy to fly, but be careful assembling and disassembling... - I purchased this kite for my girlfriend along with their 1.4m foil kite for myself. They both come in their own carrying case/bag and are easy enough to assemble and fly. This single line kite with a generous tail launched easily and was stable and predictable in a steady wind. The assembly and disassembly require you to flex the material and the structural cross pieces almost to the point of breaking. No problem if you are careful, and perhaps I haven't found the best technique yet; but a small amount of engineering might remedy this small complaint in future models. :) This is an easy to fly well made single line kite. I however much preferred the steerable airfoil and am already ordering a larger one. Fairwinds! Review: Great kite for kids - As a pre teen, we would always get the balsa wood and paper kites. We would put them together, tie some old rags together for a tail, tie ir to some fishing line, and try to fly the thing. It was fruitless and I never got a kite to fly. Now, at age 47, I wanted to get something off my bucket list, so I found the Prism Stowaway Diamond Kite on desertcart. The kite arrived very quickly. It happened to arrive on a breezy day in March, so I put it together right away. I had purchased a stonger/longer string as well. It took about 20 seconds to put the kite together and let it fly. It launched on the first try. As soon as it was above the rooftops of the nearby houses, it caught the wind and took off. I was able to control it very easily above the treeline. It is so easy to operate, a 12 year old kid could fly it. The hard plastic is easy to put together and automaticly steches the fabric. The only mistake would be to pinch the fabric in the hard plastic sticks which could puncture the fabric. I have flown the kite for about a half hour on every day the weather has been nice since. Only once have I lost the wind causing the flight to nosedive. I have enjoyed this kite very much and it is highly recommended.

Purple Haze Prism Stowaway Diamond Review
I purchased the Purple Haze color of the Prism Stowaway Diamond Kite for use at home where we have open fields and for on vacations when my niece visits. It is both fun for kids and a stress reliever/ relaxing activity for adults. The kite comes packed as a portable sized kit in a travel bag with snap that has instructions printed on the backside. It has a loop on top that you can use for hanging to store the kite bag when not in use. I did take pictures when unpacking the kite and found them useful later on for reference on how to best repack the kite compactly to fit in the bag. One criticism I have is the bag is snug for repacking the kit and provided string/line. I would also suggest using something more rigid like a mailing tube or box for travel to protect the kite pole bars from breakage or crushing. At first, set-up/ take-down was not fast or easy. The poles were very stiff and I was afraid I would snap them trying to fit them together or puncture through the kite fabric. I can understand the negative reviews who said this was the reason they sent it back. I did find that this improved upon usage. Kite is very durable and this is the reason behind the price. Compared to cheaper kites of the same style– dollar store kites and kites ranging from $3-10 from the big box store – the Prism Diamond survived multiple nose and wingtip divebombs into hard ground with rough grass/ short hay field. The color of the Purple Haze model is deep and vibrant. The Purple Haze color and pattern stood out both on a bright sunny blue sky and on dull gray skies better than many of the washed out cheaper kites. Additionally, the abstract pattern was “cool” for older kids/ adults whereas the selection at stores was limited only for the Easter holiday and mostly toddler cartoonish designs or movie characters. Most of the cheap kites could not be disassembled. If the weather changed, I liked the convenience the Prism Stowaway offered by packing it back up until another day. Flying: The Prism Diamond LOVES to fly on its own! If it found a breeze and was on the ground it would attempt takeoff! Just make sure the string is not tangled. Although not a stunt kite, it looks beautiful doing sweeping figure eights or just flying with its tail. For adults looking for stress relaxation its an outside version of the adult coloring book zen feeling. Kids will love it too because it does have some pull tension on it that makes it feel like you are "driving" the kite. Pictures of overall case height, bag contents, backside of bag with instructions, Overall, I would recommend this kite or a Prism stunt kite if you want more of a challenge since the durability makes the price worth it.

Design works great but materials not made to last
Kite went together easily. Flew beautifully, but when I was breaking it down I noticed one of the rods was split. We got 1 flight out of it. Not very happy with that but as a whole kite worked very well. Only 3 stars.

Great Kite!
This is a great kite and flew nicely on the first time out. There are some earlier negative comments about this kite and I think I can address at least some of them. The bridle has two knots in it and one would assume that's the adjustment range. Well, my kite would not fly at first and it took me about 10 minutes to figure out they were in the wrong place. I found the correct place by just crooking a finger around the bridle at differing places, holding the kite up in the wind, until it flew well just on my finger. Then I adjusted the bridle knots to cover that area (moving the attachment as well), launched the kite and flew it non-stop for a couple of hours. It was stable, flew very nicely and I let out all but about a foot or so of the 200' of line that comes with the kite. So if your kite won't fly well at first, try adjusting where you attach to the bridle. I like this kite.

A kite of different colors.....
I purchased the Prism Stowaway Diamond kite for my 5 year old daughter. It appeared nicely made and seemed easy to pack. She wa so excited when she opened it..... her eye's as big as saucers. That was the end of her happiness though. Like other reviewers of Prism kites.... this thing just didn't fly well. Whether it was strong wind or little wind..... it would just nose dive and hit the ground. I wrote Prism twice asking for advice but never received a response. Something to seriously think about when you have questions or need replacement parts. Terrible customer service in running a business. I am not into reviewing an item unless I feel the buyer should be aware so.... this is one of those times. We ended up buying a cheapo kite from a large department store and went kite flying all day without a hitch. Think twice before investing in any Prism kite,

The bag itself is of great quality: it means the designers are convinced this ...
OK, let's get us all past the initial review stuff. It is a Prism kite: fit, finish, bag quality et cetera are superb. The bag itself is of great quality: it means the designers are convinced this kite will last a long time! Prism kites cover the small to mid-size kites range. They go towards innovated designs and materials. They are an industry leader. My kite was superbly made as I expected and flew well today in a stable manner. It met my expectations 100%. Once you buy a Prism kite, you will wonder why you ever bothered to buy some other brand kite. Prism = High Quality. I have around 80% of their line in my collection of kites. I have no connection with Prism other than being a typical retail purchaser. Prism prices are reasonable and the increase it quality is with 10x the premium over similar kites. It is the Bentley of kites compared to Yugos...car comparison.

Excellent
Lovely, attractive, easy to fly, took to the air quickly, great for kids and for an intro to kite flying for kids.the kids were amazed at how high it flew used up all the line and could have taken much more. It's small but not very small and easy to assemble with the clip on line it takes seconds to put up. I was very happy with the purchase.

Super agility with a single string will have you zooming!
Soooo much fun for a first kite buyer! Had it dialled in on its 2nd flight. Easy to solo launch in 20 kph winds.

Good quality
I bought this for my daughter. She's a bit to young to use it, but it is really easy to fly. Putting it together was easy and its nice to be able to pack it away. Seems like quality material and I think it will last. I'd recommend it.

Not very easy to fly unless it's very windy and the poles frayed and broke after using it only half a dozen times.

Best Kite!
It looks so good, and it's definitely an easier kite to get up in the air. I really like this brand.
