Polymem 4" x 4" Non-Adhesive Pad Wound Dressing, 3 Count (Pack of 1)

This is an awesome product for anyone trying to heal from a chemical burn, yeast infection around a feeding tube site, or any type of raw irritated burning skin. The polymem dressing is very soothing and does not adhere to the skin like some other dressings do. It just stays in place very well and soothes the irritation so well. I was told by the wound clinic that these had glycerin in them, although it does not say that when you look at the ingredients, it says you would need to call the manufacturer, but I was told by the wound clinic that it did have glycerin in it and that was what created the soothing effect. If you really wanted to be sure that it had glycerin in it, you could always call the manufacturer, but I think the wound clinic should’ve known what they were talking about because they were located in the cancer center and use it on a lot of their cancer patients.

I purchased these pads based on the reviews, and they truly exceeded my expectations. My dad is diabetic and has extremely fragile, "onion-thin" skin. He accidentally scraped his arm on a doorway and ended up tearing off the top layer of skin—it was pretty intense. While the wound wasn’t deep enough to require a hospital visit, it was raw and painful. Initially, we used Solosite Wound Gel (left over from a previous hospital stay), along with gauze pads and bandage wrap. Unfortunately, every time we changed the dressing, it would stick to the healing skin and pull it off again, forcing his body to start the healing process all over. I was on the verge of calling his doctor for advice when I came across a review on Amazon that mentioned using these PolyMem pads along with a clear “second-skin” dressing. That combination was a game-changer. Not only did the pads provide cushioning and protection, but they also didn’t stick to the wound. We found that we didn’t need to change the dressing daily—every three days was sufficient. The only reason we changed it that often was because the edges of the second-skin dressing would start to lift and catch on his clothes. Each time we changed the dressing, we were amazed at how much healing had occurred. His wound is now completely healed, with no scarring at all. These pads are absolutely a must-have for any home first aid kit. Yes, they’re a bit pricey, but they’re worth every penny—and since they can be cut to size, we were able to get two uses out of each one. I wish I had taken before-and-after photos to show the difference, but honestly, the “before” might have been too graphic to share. Still, I can’t recommend these enough.

We got Polymem from our wound care nurse, but they could only give us a few to take home, so Amazon to the rescue! These are a little smaller than what I got at wound care, but it’ll still work at the 4x4 size. My dad had leg wounds that started to bleed when we removed the “nonstick” band aid pads, negating any sort of healing since we needed to change the dressing every day, so wound care said to use these instead as they really are nonstick. After using these for two days, the bleeding stopped and the wounds are finally healing. Apparently you do not need to use any antibiotic ointment or medicines since it has it all incorporated into the pad itself. They are easy to cut for whatever size you need. I’ve cut one into smaller pieces to take care of little spots all over. They are expensive, but in my opinion the price is worth the quick improvement to my dads issues we’ve had for two months.

I am diabetic and have paper thin skin. I started using these pads at a hospital for an abscess. The speed of healing is impressive. No more ripping off the top layer of the wound and starting over everytime I change the dressing.

Purchased this after having some from cancer unit for open sores. Worked wonders & hospital state can be reused a few times.
