After is on u can press and hold the power button to go from low brightness to high brightness. Depending on the thickness of the paper used and the room lightning conditions it can be adjusted accordingly and not affect ur eyes after a longer period of use. The light is evenly spread all over the light pad and there is no dark spots or dark corners. The magnets have good strength and hold the paper in place no problem. Me personally I use it with a battery pack so I won’t be tie down to an power outlet. The carrying bag it's a nice addition but I think it should be better made. It could include a zipper or some velcro straps on the top to make it more secure and protect the light pad. Whenever I put the magnets inside the bag Im afraid of losing them. I had couple of velcro squares at home and attached on the bag ( see the picture) and it's way better and more secure. Other than that is a very well made light pad. Happy with my purchase and would recommend. Review: Very nice light box but with two drawbacks. - Overall, this is a nice little light table. I'm not going to take off any stars for them, but there were two things I thought I'd mention for future buyers to consider. One is that the magnets aren't as strong as I'd hoped. As you're working, even the gentlest bump of your hand will move them and throw off the alignment of what you're tracing. They're fine though for just lightly holding things in place. My second concern is the port where the USB plugs in. (Hopefully I've used the correct terminology and you'll know what I mean.) The plastic frame on my light box bulges out a bit on one corner because it doesn't fit correctly around the port. Also the port wiggles A LOT when I plug in and unplug the cord. That whole part seems very fragile and I'm concerned enough about it that I've taken to just leaving the cord in so I won't have to plug in and unplug it each time I use it. The light pad has to be plugged in to work. You can plug one end of the cord into the pad and the other end into the computer to power it. As an alternative, you can use the adapter, and instead of plugging it into the computer, you can plug it into any regular household wall outlet. That’s how mine works in the United States anyway. I’m not sure about elsewhere and wouldn’t want to mislead anyone. **Q: Can the object you are tracing be enlarged by the screen also does it have a grid showing capability?** A: I bought this pad for my wife for doing diamond painting. She loves it. In answer to your question about enlarging the picture. Not to my knowledge. And there is no grid showing when it is lighted up. The reason my wife likes it is because of the intensity of the light beneath the diamond painting, the numbers a much easier to read, especially for seniors. **Q: Why does the light box continue to glow even after it is turned off?** A: When I purchased mine did not glow. Not sure; yours might be not be working well? I also ended up returning mine as it came a little damaged, but it certainly did not glow when off. **Q: How to make it dim** A: To make it dim hold down the on off button. However, I'm glad I did. This light board is AMAZING. Big, evenly lit surface, and very bright. Brightness variable and goes up and down by just holding down on the power button. It comes with a power adapter and cable, which happens to be USB-C!!! How awesome is that? No more fumbling with pluggin in the cable the right way. Also came with some other accessories... Some magnets, some clips, a stand, and a container for diamond painting thingies. Overall, very pleased with this product.
