Review: great alternative to solar controller - I purchased 2 of these so that I could step my voltage down to 12 volts without the expense or hassle of another controller. What I found is even though it is rated for 24 volts down to 12 volts they worked very good at stepping the voltage down from a single solar panel that was putting out around 19 volts . If you are wanting to step that voltage down to 12 from a single panel I recommend giving these a try. BTW there are various voltages that can be used and I do believe they have stepup transformers as well.

**Q: I was sent a 48 volt to 12 volt. i ordered 24 volt to 12 volt. will the 48 volt work the same? or do i have to order another 24volt?**
A: The 24V converter is rated for an input of 18 to 35 volts. The 48V converter is rated for an input of 30 to 60 volts. Unless your input voltages falls within the 30 to 60 volt range you need to order the proper one.

**Q: Specific Voltage output (12.0v, 12.6v, 13.0v etc)?  Just generally says 12v in the description.**
A: About 12.6 it will power anything listed as 12vdc input

**Q: Does this work with a 20v max dewalt battery or the 20v/60v flex volt dewalt batteries?**
A: The converter input voltage is rated down to 18 volts.  If the Dewalt battery was actually 20 volts it should work. It is less and many say nominal is only 18 volts. As the battery drains it will go below 18. It may work for a short time but you wouldn’t get nowhere close to the full capacity of the battery. If using a flex battery make sure your wired for 20 volts and not 60.

I purchased 2 of these so that I could step my voltage down to 12 volts without the expense or hassle of another controller. What I found is even though it is rated for 24 volts down to 12 volts they worked very good at stepping the voltage down from a single solar panel that was putting out around 19 volts . If you are wanting to step that voltage down to 12 from a single panel I recommend giving these a try. BTW there are various voltages that can be used and I do believe they have stepup transformers as well.

This step-down converter has been working perfectly in my fishing boat to give all the 12-volt accessories the exact voltage needed from my 24-volt battery system. It outputs 12 volts on the nose when tested with a multimeter. Simple and effective. I should order one or two more just to have on hand. Great product.
