Product description Park Tool HCW-5 Bicycle Bottom Bracket Lockring Wrench The Park Tool HCW-5 is a double-ended wrench designed to fit lockrings found on cup-and-cone bicycle bottom brackets . One side features a single hook, the other side features 3 notches for better engagement in the lockrings. Heat-treated and nickel plated for a lifetime of use. The universal single hook end will fit most lockrings with an outer diameter of 43 to 46mm . The three-hook end will fit 3-notch lockrings with a maximum outside diameter of 46mm , and minor diameter (in the notches) of 40mm. NOTE: The HCW-5 is designed for bottom bracket lockrings. For fixed gear lockrings, use the HCW-17 . Review: Essential - Another solid bicycle repair and maintenance tool from Park Tool. I got this to remove the lock ring retaining the rear cog on my 6KU fixed gear bicycle. I have now used this tool multiple times to remove, re-install, and tighten the lock ring, and it has worked well in spite of the fact that neither end seems to be specifically for my particular style of lock ring. The side with the single tooth is a bit too wide to get a good grip on my lock ring, so I use the more crescent-shaped side with three teeth, which doesn't fit my lock ring exactly either, but still gets a good grip. Like a good pedal wrench, the flat profile of this tool allows it to easily slide into the tight spaces it needs to go to do its job, and the solid construction insures that it won't break or bend in use. It also takes up little space in a pack, so I usually carry it with me in case my lock ring slips. This is a simple, durable, and handy tool that every bicycle mechanic, whether professional or amateur, should have in his collection.

Another solid bicycle repair and maintenance tool from Park Tool. I got this to remove the lock ring retaining the rear cog on my 6KU fixed gear bicycle. This is one solid piece, was a lifesaver for me removing a seized bottom bracket ring. My other spanner was unable to remove it, but after more PB and the single tooth side of this spanner, and still quite a bit of torque, voila. Access to the bb. It is large which is useful for leverage and it feels sturdy. It is a fair price for a well known brand, when compared to local stores. I would recommend it.
