This one is what I grew up with in Boy Scouts and it is a tried a true style that saw wide use in the vietnam war. I use the 90 degree spine on my knife or my carbide sharpener to get the largest globs of sparks and larger shavings on the somewhat hard magnesium. But this worked great in my backyard after a heavy storm and lit right up after a few tries on the ferro rod.
