The ratchet feels like good plastic but is complicated which usually means shorter usable life in my experience, we will see. The size is good. They're comfortable and fairly stiff. I can't get them as tight as I'd like because of the velcro straps. The Velcro is stiff making it difficult to tighten on a low volume foot. I will modify them and make them work for my foot. Also I'm on the last click of the ratchet. To be clear for the price these are great. If you want the performance of a $300 shoe, buy a $300 shoe. I ride 3-6 hours a week and will make these work for me.
