To the point that even their work gloves have calluses. Enter Ad Nauseaum, the eighth and latest record from Baltimore's devil-children, Dog Fashion Disco. As with each of it's predecessors, Ad Nauseaum is a fiery exclamation of cynicism, dark humor and universal truths. It is bullet proof and undeniably sustainable in the eye of it's own hurricane. Review: DFD has many moments of brilliance on this album - I didn't think DFD would ever get close to the awesomeness that is Adultery, but here's proof they can hit those high-water marks again. I'm not saying this meets the level of Adultery--perfection is perfection. But this 9 song album has many moments of quality that is as brilliant as anything they've done. The title track didn't grab me when I first heard it on youtube--I thought it was pretty basic. But I was sold on the rest of the album immediately. Then, a few more listens and I couldn't get the title track out of my head. My favorite track has to be "Starving Artist" -- an incrediblly epic song that meanders many places without sounding contrived or random. It's a perfect album closer. After listening to the album on Google Play a few times, I went ahead and bought the CD so I can wear it out in my car. It's DFD in proper form. Just get it already! My 3 most favorite tracks so far are Golden Mirage, Covered In Blood, and Starving Artist. The album is a nice incorporation of the slow, medium, and fast paced. Buy it and support these guys, and look forward to the stuff coming out from their other projects, El-Creepo, Knives Out, Polkadot Cadaver, and also Jasan's new project, In The Blind. Even the order of the tracks is brilliant... When Last Night Never Happened ends, rough as it can be, and Golden Mirage starts playing with this upbeat keyboard intro... I love it!!
