Reliable
I first bought this thermo from Amazon in 2020 and it still works today (2026). But I wanted another one for my travel kit, so I bought it again. It looks and works exactly like my old one from 2020. They both read the same temp, +/- 0.1 degree, after several "forehead temp" comparison tests. Special Note: My new one has a sticker that says "... test it 2 to 3 times on your palm, before using it to take temp... "; this is so the Infrared sensor can pre-calibrated with a "warm body" (not my cold house) and provide a very accurate readings. FYI, it takes only 1 second to readout, no delay. It is fast, accurate, and 2-AAA batteries (not included) last 6 months or longer, using it every day.

Inaccurate
Inaccurate temperature readings. The first one I got only showed 74 degrees. I returned it and reordered. The new one shows 73 degrees. I retried both several times and couldn't get an accurate reading. The manual lists a support help to email which comes back as no domain name.

Worked for 5 years before it died
It worked great even with daily use… for a little over 5 years! Then it started complaining of low battery. After changing the battery several times and testing the batteries, I realized it wasn’t the battery that was the problem. The unit was just tired and wanted to retire after 5 years. I can relate, but I think it’s reasonable to expect us to keep working much longer than 5 years. Your call!

Excellent value, easy to use, and pretty accurate temperature reading.
The EasyEast Touchless Infrared Thermometer is simplistic and easy to use. One can get a temperature reading right out of the box. With further instructions (provided), there are cool features to increase utility. I would say though that the temperature is off by 0.6-0.7 degrees (C or F). Pretty accurate, but not perfectly accurate. I don't think there is a perfect infrared thermometer out there. This is all in theory, as some people's normal body temperature read differently from person to person. For less than $10, this is a great value. The quality for this price is unmatched when compared to $60-100 infrared thermometers. We needed a temperature reader for adults due to the pandemic, to be safe and cautious during these worrisome times. The EasyEast Touchless infrared thermometer met our needs in a practical fashion and an excellent price to match.
