I have a 2008 Jeep Compass, and man, that thing was insane to work on. I dreaded changing any part of the Camry, and admittedly, waited entirely too long to change the cabin air filter. Opened the glove box, emptied our booklets, etc., popped off the cover in the very back, slid out the old filter (which was incredibly disgusting), pop the new one in, and replace the steps in reverse. Literally took me about five minutes, tops. I've purchased air filters for my previous cars in the past at Walmart, but where we're located in Chicago, it's usually much easier to get the things we need either buy just going to the suburbs or, you guessed it, desertcart. The price to me was fair, and the product has been a noticeable increase in driving enjoyment - maybe the whole Arm & Hammer addition to the filter is a gimmick or a placebo or something, but it seems to make a difference to me. It's been in our car for a little over a month, and the cabin still smells very good. My 2010 Prius dealership filter had the UP arrow pointing up but the airflow is down. Which way?** A: Hillbilly is not entirely correct. I have a 2008 Lexus IS250 and the airflow is down, not up. An he is wrong about leaves being on top of the filter due to gravity. If there are leaves on the downstream side of the filter that means 2 things. 1. Your current filter isn't filtering and 2. When the fan comes on, you will have leaves blowing out of your vents. Unless your kids are stuffing leaves in your vents, there's no way there will be leaves on the downstream side of the filter. Keep it simple, the dirty side is the side the air went in and the clean side is the side the air came out. That's what filters do. **Q: Charcoal side up? This time Arrow direction has changed since I have been buying these for years for a 2007 Camry. Confusing or misprinted on side of the filter.** A: These filters are just paper, and it doesn't matter which direction you install. The arrow only matters if you remove the filter, clean, and replace it. If you replace a used filter in the opposite direction, you will be blowing dirt off of the filter and into your cabin. So you can choose: Always arrow up, or always arrow down, just remember how you did it. **Q: it the black size face down or up instruction is different from filter arrow said up on filter but instruntion said arrow pointed down** A: The filter should be installed with the arrow direction on the FILTER pointing in the direction the air flows in your particular vehicle.
