These work really well.... as long as your paying attention to stowing your rod in them. Bought these to install on a DIY boat rod spreader for sturgeon fishing so when re-baiting, or soaking bait, have a place to lock rod in so its not under foot. Or for holding rods while doing a short relocation. These are tight for larger diameter rods. Probably suited much better for maybe a steelhead or salmon rod. But.... if you put the rod in with equal pressure above and below the compressed clasp thingamabob, and same process when pulling rod out.... works fine. Over time they will wallow out and loosen up like.... well you know.... Over time with repeated use they should relax and eliminate the potential for rod damage as I've read in some of the reviews. The product used is not the cheap foam, but a much more dense material, which should hold up a lot better to weather UV, etc

Fantastic Product!
Installed these on my jon boat, very impressed by how well they hold. Beware, they hold so well, if you aren't careful you can break your line on removal. Not complaining though, I can go 80 mph on the interstate and not worry about losing poles!

Broke During Install
These work well but one of them broke during installation. Be careful about over-tightening the screw when you’re installing these as the plastic is easy to crack. I bought a replacement and was more careful installing it, so far these work well. They have survived about six fishing trips on salt water and hold the rods snug, without any room for movement during even the roughest of seas.

very comfortable to install and use.
installation was very easy, just to bolts to mount. it keeps my fishing rods safe and stored very nice with the reels . the Eva foam holds the rods very good. the spaces between each rod holder could be a little wider. overall great product.
