Good protection with the added benefit of being able to hear
I used to use Mack's silicone earplugs (the silicone blob that you form and fit to create an airtight seal), and while they are reliable, comfortable and cheap, they are so seal-tight that you can't hear anything. I needed plugs that let me hear my coach and keep the water out. These are just the thing! In fact, I was surprised that these work as well as they do. I tried Mack's Aquablock earplugs and they just kept falling out, so I was skeptical that these Tyr ones would work since they also don't form an airtight seal. I guess the pressure of the water against the series of "flaps" keeps the water out. I could see them maybe not work on a person with big ear openings (I'm an average-sized woman). But for the price, it's a small gamble to find out. Oh, and the little plastic case shuts securely and is small enough to tuck into my goggles case for easy access. Best of all, I can hear my coach AND keep the water out!

Excellent product
I purchased a pair of these ear plugs last summer. They do a great job in preventing water from getting into my ears. They are easy to use and I've never had a problem with them falling out. I agree with the description where it states that there is little disruption to your hearing. I've noticed that I can hear almost as well with them in as I can hear without them in, so that certainly helps especially when you're swimming with other people. I would definitely recommend these for anyone who gets swimmer's ear like I do. I use them in the pool and the shower and they work very well for me.

Durable product
Even though, I had issues of one ear plug staying in properly. Otherwise, I had no other complaints.

Works well, recommend
I started training for a triathlon and so was having to spend a lot of time in the pool. I'm prone to swimmer's ear, so I was worried about that. I figured I'd give these a shot. They are a little odd when you get them, you have to look in the mirror and sort of match the shape to your ear to figure out which one is for which ear. But then you just fit them in gently. It doesn't create a water tight seal, so I was wondering how well they would work. But actually, they work great. Like I said, it's not a water tight seal, but it does well in keeping most of the water out. And what does get in doesn't seem to bother me, no swimmer's ear. You can also still hear a bit, but I found it's actually really nice because it lets me block out the din of chatter around me so I can focus. Five stars because they do the job well, they are comfortable and easy to care for. I just give them a rinse with tap water after a swim session and set them back in their case with the lid open. I never swim without them.

Good but not great
Have you ever noticed that men tend to have larger ears than women? It seems that TYR hasn't. Unisex sizing rarely works well. The flange at the entry to my ear canal is too large to sit snuggly within my ear. I definitely get less water in my ears than swimming without ear plugs, but these are not watertight for me. They do stay in place while swimming. Pulling your swim cap over them, however, will dislodge them. These are likely a 5 star for men. Very comfortable.

best ear plugs I have found so far, perfect for tri training and long masters swim
I'm a triathlete and swim a lot (usually 3x a week including masters swim). I was having a problem with water in my ears so I cycled through many different brands of ear plugs designed for swimmers. None were perfect only occasionally getting the job done. Specifically, I tried Speedo and whatever the "#1 best seller" is. The Tyr ear plugs fit snug, are comfortable and keep almost all of the water out of my ear canal. There's bound to be a bit of moisture, so what I mean is that as I rotate my head to breathe my ear isn't filling up with water. Another thing I appreciate is that the case has ventilation so that the ear plugs dry and don't harbor mildew.

Good for swimming
I recently got some earplugs specifically for swimming, and they've been fantastic! Since using them, I've never had the problem of water coming into my ear, which used to be a common annoyance. Plus, a huge bonus is that I haven't experienced any issues with ear wax blocking my ear either. They fit comfortably and effectively keep my ears dry. Highly recommend these earplugs for anyone looking for a reliable solution to protect their ears while swimming!

these are terrible, don't bother
I am a regular swimmer, I swim 6 days a week. I have tried 5 different earplugs: mack's pillow soft ear plugs, mack's aquablock ear plug, tyr molded ear plugs and arena ergo liquid silicone ear plug. howard leight aquaseal ear plug, In the beginning, I used mack's pillow soft ear plugs, but then after 3 days, it would start leaking water into my ear. So I switched to mack's aquablock ear plug, still does't fit, water leaks in. Then I tried arena ergo, I figure since it's the most expensive swimming earplug on amazon, it must worth a try. It turns out hurts my ear, I couldn't even fit it in. $16 down the drain. Tyr molded ear plug is similar in style as arena ergo earplug. Finally I tried howard leight aquaseal ear plug, WOW, waht a difference, perfect fit, never leaks. I am so happy. I am never going back to other brands again.

Satisfecha

These are great
I am a petite woman and these fit my ears fine. I have a weird shaped left ear canal and I have always had a problem with ear plugs preventing water from entering that ear. I've tried these a few times and water is no longer getting into my ear. I think these are great and should hold up well. These are the best ear plugs I've used so far.

Exactly what I needed
I wasn't sure if they were gonna fit me because my ears are quite big, however they fitter perfectly and never come off while I am swimming. I have used them for a couple of months and I have had no complaint.
