Review: I love L-Citrulline Malate (2:1). - I love L-Citrulline Malate (2:1). I love L-Citrulline Malate (2:1). I love L-Citrulline Malate (2:1). It is a miracle drug. There is nothing better. Creatine sucks. Creatine made my feet swell up to 2-5 times their normal size depending on how much sodium I had or how long I had been sitting in my chair. It caused shin cramps at the top of my feet that quickly extended to the front of my shins, and it was excruciatingly painful. I did not feel stronger taking Creatine, but L-Citrulline Malate (2:1) makes me feel like I can do anything. It motivates me to work out, I feel less burn, I can do more reps, and I recover faster. Creatine made me feel dehydrated, required me to drink a lot of water to prevent headaches and shin cramps, and required me to take it every single day. L-Citrulline Malate (2:1) can be taken when needed. Ugh, if only L-Citrulline Malate was readily available three decades ago. My life would have been do different if I had known about it then and was taking it. I also like the taste of it. It tastes like sour lemonade. I just add a little sweetener to it.
Review: TL;DR: Looks Good, Feels Good (taste is tart and MIGHT make me pee more) - In this review I will do my best to cover two main points: Quality/Delivery, Taste, and Potential Impact on my workouts. Background and Quality: I tried citrulline malate because I had read about it's usefulness as both a vasodilator and as a promoter of arginine production in the body, and I tried BulkSupplements Citrulline Malate because of the price-per-serving. I began taking 2x the dosage (6-7g) this past week along with my Naked Energy unflavored pre-workout and was very impressed overall. Upon opening the bag I found that the powder was very fine and without any clumping. Dosing it is more difficult with BulkSupplements because they do not include a scoop, however that was easily rectified by just measuring it out on my kitchen scale. I was extremely surprised and excited to find that despite the relatively large amount of CitMal that I had pulled out of the bag, all of it was able to dissolve fully in a cup of approx. 8-10 oz cold water. I was even more impressed when I was able to mix my 5g of pre-workout into the same cup and despite the atrociously bitter and unrecognizable taste of unflavored pre-workout, I was able to actually A) drink the glass without praying to god that the taste won't make me vomit and B) Make a flavor association to something that I've eaten before, which actually made it considerably more palatable. Taste: It is important to remember that these supplements are not made with taste in mind. That being said, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the CitMal seemed to completely mask my pre-workout's ungodly bitterness, and rounded it out to taste very similar to a Warhead sour candy. Because of this, I was actually able to drink the cup somewhat normally rather than have to use my -take 5 sips, chase with water and repeat- method that I was doing with my pre-workout before. If you are not good with the tart taste of a warhead, you may want to find something to mix this with that isn't water. If like me you are totally cool with drinking something that's between lemonade without sugar and a liquid Warhead or you think you would enjoy the nostalgia that it brings about reminiscent of popping one of those nasty suckers into your mouth for until the sour fades, this is the perfect pre-workout product for you. Potential Impact on Workout: I want to put in a quick disclaimer that it isn't going to be entirely possible to completely distinguish the effects of my pre-workout versus the CitMal, but I'll do my best. After beginning my double dose of CitMal before my workout, I didn't notice a huge difference between my level of energy before starting the CitMal (when I was only taking pre-workout) and after the CitMal was added. the HUGE difference that I noticed was how I felt between sets. I found my muscles burning and asking me to end my set, but within a minute or two of putting down the weight, it felt almost as if I hadn't done the prior set in the first place. This insanely fast recovery was extremely beneficial for helping me get through my workout efficiently, and without leaving me feeling dead on my way out of the gym. Additionally, the amount of DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscular Soreness) was significantly lower and left me feeling not only good about myself, but also confident that I could do anything I wanted or needed to do all week long without being hindered by breathtakingly sore muscles. The final bonus for this product was that it allowed me to maintain my energy throughout the entire day. I would leave the gym breathing heavily and within a couple of minutes I felt similar to the way I did going into the gym. I was thoroughly impressed. Side Effects: Here's the rub--I am pretty sure that I started sweating more in the gym after starting this product, and I also noticed that I have had to use at least one of my breaks between sets to go pee mid-workout. I think that this is in-part due to the CitMal, however I did also start drinking a bit more water before going to the gym so I'm guessing it's a combination. Anyway, good luck finding the product that is right for you, and good luck on your workout! may the gainz be with you.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Halved My Recovery Times
*by J***N on November 13, 2016*

I've been using this supplement for almost a month now, and I can now say I've had it long enough to leave an efficient review. For those who don't know, citrulline is an alpha-amino acid byproduct of enzymes that act on arginine (another amino acid). These reactions essentially release nitric oxide (NO) into the body, which relaxes and dilates smooth muscle, allowing increased blood flow. Smooth muscle lines the blood vessels as well as the gastrointestinal tract. I write this as I've heard few people complain of diarrhea or GI upset after using citrulline. In such cases, I would recommend reducing the dose. In my experience with this product, I have experienced ZERO GI issues. No diarrhea, no cramps, no pain, and no change to my routine restroom use. I've used NO-boosting products before, such as Nitrix. As for citrulline, I take 3 g (1-rounded teaspoon) before my workout and another 3 g immediately after my workout. It's very convenient. I can honestly say that this product has more than halved my recovery time. The extra circulation reduces rest periods and vastly shortens recovery periods. I have chronic back problems as well (degenerative), that seem to alleviate with activity. So, I am very grateful for the shortened recovery times. More activity for me equates to less back pain. As far as the sacred "pump" goes, never fear. This product will get you there and then some. I've taken arginine pre-workout, and felt only mild-to-moderate effects. Citrulline Malate is the way to go. The pump is much more intense. You can push yourself harder. I've noticed more solid musculature after a workout. I've been able to push myself so hard in workouts while using this product that I "feel" the muscle is failing because it's packed with blood. You really have to experience this product. When taken responsibly as part of a balanced diet and regular activity, you will enjoy benefits from it. I can give this product my highest recommendation. There is only one minute negative, and that's the taste it adds to my post-workout shake. It adds a bitter taste. This is probably my fault, because I don't experience this when it's added to my pre-workout shake. If flavor is important to you, I would recommend mixing it with just water or trying other things like juices. I don't really care about taste. I chug my pre- and post-workout shakes regardless, so I didn't even notice it until the second or third time. I'm not in this for flavor, I'm in this for results. As such, I will be a regular consumer of this product. I can't imagine wasting time in the gym without this in my supplement regime. TL;DR I've been in the gym non-stop. Hungry for more. I've been to the gym six days this week, having done chest, biceps, shoulders, triceps TWICE; legs, and back. I get through workouts twice as fast and recover twice as fast.
