I've been using this now for about six months and I haven't had to deal with a spill yet. My only complaint is that this thing is a dust magnet. It's black, and I think the grip texture on the surface just seems to collect hair and dust like crazy. You will have to wipe it down often, but otherwise, it's a great bedside table.
