Remember you have to cut the end of the rail first before you do anything else. **Q: How far does the rails protrude into the stiles? 3/8 or 1/2?** A: 3/8 in. **Q: how sharp are these router bits because bought wants from other company and there where burning the wood?** A: I am happy with mine. I don't think there is a set that won't burn the wood if you take to big of bit into the wood. My last cut I only take 1/64 to 1/32 of a cut and I never have burn marks. **Q: Can the back cutter be removed to make "proud" panels?** A: Yes.
