### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for E Tuned (Tenor) Guitalele!
*by C***Y on July 22, 2025*

After getting a guitalele and then giving up on the traditional A tuning, I did some quick research. Couldn't afford the Aquila Reds made specifically for tuning a guitalele to E, and the next recommendation was some equally priced carbon strings. The mention of "high tension" on the second video got me thinking and led me here.I did see a video of someone throwing the normal tension Martin Classical Ball Ends on their guitalele, but that's a baritone and my Kala is a tenor, so I gambled on these hard tension strings.Installation was easy enough, obviously thanks in large part to the ball ends. So far they're obviously still stretching, but they sound better than the factory Aquilas! Plus the intonation or whatever seems better overall. Before, the 4th string (G string now, but previous was a C string) would be wildly different and sounded off. Now, the G string sounds "right" (this and my soprano ukulele are my first non-steel string instruments) and only loses tuning at the same rate as the rest. Plus, some buzz on the second string (formerly D) is no longer present (now the A string).Loving the sound, feel, and ball ends, absolutely will throw these on everything possible from now on! 😍👍

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Replacements For Your Metal Strings
*by W***N on January 22, 2024*

I have these Martin M160s on three of my metal-stringed guitars now, and I love them. I prefer playing on nylon strings, because I love the sound and they are easier on my fingers (regardless of the action). These babies stay in tune better than any other ball-end nylon strings I've ever used (over thirty years), and the tension is high enough that my necks have never been affected. You can expect a little less volume from your guitar switching from metal to nylon strings, but they are still plenty loud for most venues, and they amplify just fine if you use an acoustic-electric. The low price point is icing on the cake.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Martin is amazing brand
