It sits slightly lower than the floor, so drains well with out tilting. If need be, it is easily tilted leaning back on the wheels. **Q: How heavy is the empty cooler ?** A: I would guess 25 lbs, I could lift it and I am 70 years old. **Q: Is there any material difference in the quality of the materials between this one (color blue) and the black one that is more expensive?** A: Have a solid blue one, seen others in stores, they are all the same, frankly the darker, the worst it would be. Black is black because it’s absorbing the entire visible spectrum, aka equals heat. White reflects all visible light back. So in theory white should be the best, especially in direct sunlight. However we hate white, It shows dirt, didn’t like red, orange, so picked blue top, blue bottom. That white with blue bottom might be good as they don’t usually insulate the tops, just air. Why is black more expensive, most likely the color demand, they sell more of them. If white/dirty looking doesn’t bother you, go with that if offered, or the white top, blue bottom. I recently moved and it traveled the 1000+ miles with me without an issue. I’ve also been living the feral life as I search for a new place in my new city. Without anything in it, it’s light weight and maneuverable. When you add ice and products it obviously gains weight and still is maneuverable for a healthy adult. I will say, if you have any trouble lifting heavy object, you should have some assistance. I drive a sedan so it fit nicely in the backseat and didn’t take up anymore room than an adult. The big question that everyone wants answered: does it hold ice for five days? Ya damn straight it does. Just not hotel ice. Don’t blame the cooler. Blame the hotel. I used to work for a restaurant and filled my cooler to the brim with restaurant ice. This was the night before my departure. Restaurant ice is durable and built to last. It lasted five days with no issues. I take that back. The ice is so so solid, I had trouble loading my goodies in it. I had to remove some ice and put it back to get my food and drinks in there. Again, don’t blame the cooler. The next time I had to add ice was when I was staying at a hotel. I’m on day who knows what in a hotel. Hotel ice is trash. I’ve had to refill after a day to a day in a half. I will say, at some point I used gas station ice. It’s the nice go between restaurant ice and hotel ice. It gets costly though.
