However, that being said, home users with excellent hardware abilities can also install this CPU in a motherboard without issue. **Q: Will this fit a lga 1200 socket?** A: NO! It will NOT fit a LGA 1200 socket. The Intel Core i9-10900X requires a LGA 2066 socket. More pins for more PCIe lanes. **Q: Is there a way to know if the i9 10900x is unlocked?** A: All "X" and "K" Intel CPUs are unlocked. In order to overclock the CPU the motherboard must also support overclocking as some boards are compatible but don't support over locking.
