The best hand held Masager for the money
OK, the Thumper Mini Pro 2 massager is a must have if you want the following: The ability to massage relieve stress yourself, even your back, even at your desk while working or at home want to relax. A high quality product, as powerful as you will ever need, looks and feels like professional grade and will last for many years. You want to make your significant other turn into butter as she/he will love the relaxation and muscle tension release as you massage them...:) A massager heavy enough to massage larger deeper muscles and also light enough to gently massage muscle soreness from working out and over straining a now tender muscle. A massager that is very easy to use with an extra long cord which comes in handy when a plug in not so near and has multiple levels of massage that are great depending on whether you have tight muscles or ones that are a bit more tender. This is the best massager I have tried to date for producing a very relaxing massage and amazing stress release. I owned and used regularly a standard Thumper for over 10 years and it was still going as strong as ever. Unfortunately, I lost it in a move recently. So, I went right back to the best and I bought another Thumper Mini Pro.

This is the one to get
There are a lot of massagers of various types out there. Many of them less expensive. Do yourself a favor, especially if you have chronic pain issues in muscles, just get this. I've been dealing with lower back and hip pain that really limited my mobility. One use of this a couple nights ago, and the next day I was a bit stiff but not hurting and my range of motion was majorly improved. Yes, it will hurt the first time until the muscles relax a bit, but then it's just pure relief. This is a commercial quality massager designed for therapists to use in their practice so it's more expensive, but also built really well. The cord is long which is a nice change from just about anything with a cord. Read the instructions before use, there are places on the body you shouldn't use this. I'm going to say this is a wonderful value simply because of how well it works.

Worth every penny
Like everyone, I am very cost conscious these days. However, after being diagnosed with Piriformis Syndrome (sciatica/back pain), I needed to try different avenues for pain relief, including massage. This product is also excellent for everyday aches and pain from exercise, yard work, and arthritis pain. I should preface this review by stating that I also purchased the Thumper Foot/Leg Massager. Which I also love - but still, wanted something portable for my back, neck, etc. This hand held massager is amazing, and yes, intense. Although another reviewer stated that it was too much for them, I find the different speed settings should put any such concerns to rest. I use it at maximum speed, by myself, on my back, hips, calves, arms and neck. The handle is long enough to do so, and offers great flexibility. You can use both massage heads, or only one at a time, and you can push the heel of your palm onto the top of the massager for extra concentration. It is an excellent massage!! Together, these two items offer the ultimate at-home massage!!

Unreliable Product + Poor Warranty Service
When I first bought this massager, it worked pretty well. I can't compare it to other massagers as I have not used many others, however, it seemed to work as described and felt pretty good. However, despite being used very sparingly and being cared for as instructed, my Mini Pro 2 stopped working properly. When I turn it on it stutters and doesn't gain power. The massaging heads barely move. My unit is still under warranty, so I contacted the manufacturer for help. They sent me instructions on how to fix it myself. I was unable to fix it, and their next suggestion was that I try to have a friend fix it instead. I suggested that instead, perhaps they should take it back to service or replace it. They explained that they do not replace units that are under warranty, they only service them. Further, I would have to pay to send it back AND would have to pre-pay $25 for them to ship it back to me. Given that this unit is under warranty and stopped working through no fault of my own, I think this is unacceptable. The manufacturer should be responsible for fixing or replacing broken units, and that should include shipping costs. This is especially true given the high cost of the item. I would not recommend this product due to the fact that it did not last very long and due to the fact that the manufacturer does not stand behind the product.

Great massager
This is the best massager! It works as advertised and brings quick results and relief to sore muscles! We also bought one for our kids! I highly recommend it!

If you miss your old HOMEDICS, look no further! UPDATED
I had a homedics massager sorta like this purchased at Costco for much less, years ago. It has been discontinued. When we used it to death I bought a used one on ebay and used that one to death as well. I tried to buy the current homedics model and was sooo disappointed with the weight and power. After much searching, we decided to dig a little deeper in our pockets and try this one. The first Thumper I received became too hot to touch under the switch within 5 minutes of use. I returned it and tried again. The one I have now gets warm in the same place after 20 minutes of use. The weight and heft are similar to my old homedics. The power is also similar. The noise level seems quieter, but the homedics had loose pieces inside making extra noise by the time it died, so who knows? The only drawbacks are 1) less ergonomic design, and 2) only three speeds. The Thumper handle is straight down and has no cushioned pad on the grip. My homedics handle was arched and padded which some how made it less fatiguing to use on someone else. The Thumper has three speeds where the homedics had an “infinite” sliding toggle for the speeds. This is okay because I usually used it on high anyway and achieve similar results using the Thumper on high as well. Thumper’s low speed seems bouncy like pounding fist style massage. Other features one might miss from the homedics are changeable massage nodes and heated massage nodes. I never used these features, so no big loss. Over all I am pleased with quality, weight and power. I use it several times a day sometimes, but usually at least once a day for chronic pain and it is doing the job well. I would recommend. UPDATE: 7/5/19 I have been using this heavily since we bought it with no problem except it did over heat and stop working once after about 30-40 minutes of continuous use. A red light I had never seen before lit up on the side of the handle. I tried letting the unit cool down for an hour before using it again. It did not turn on and the red light was still on. I unplugged and replugged the unit at which time the light was off and the unit began to function normally again, thank goodness. I lost the instructions in a move but I am sure this was in there. IF YOUR THUMPER OVER HEATS TRY LETTING IT COOL OFF WHILE UNPLUGGED BEFORE GIVING UP ON IT. In my opinion this over heat situation covers many of the bad reviews I saw where the Thumper had stopped working. Still a good investment and still recommend!

If you love someone, buy them this.
Bought one of these back around 1997 after trying a demo unit out at a Relax The Back store locally. My wife and I used it on each other in the store, but balked at the pricetag and walked out. We got about 100 feet from the store when we were like "We can't live without that thing", and went back and bought one. Flash forward 25 years later and we still have it, however the power switch eventually started acting up after 15 years or so, and I accidentally damaged the power cable a few years back (tearing the insulation), making it unsafe to use. The weak point of this unit was the power switch. Because ours wasn't usable, I replaced it with a more-expensive, more modern, wireless Hypervolt unit. That massager lasted less than 2 years (with relatively light use) when the "smart" battery just flat out decided it wouldn't take a charge any longer. Having spent nearly $300 on the Hypervolt, and now faced with an $80 battery replacement after only two years, I told Hyperice (the parent company) to suck it, and bought a new Thumper. It is as glorious as I remember. Still built like a tank. The power switch feels the same, so perhaps that is still it's main failure mode, but dear Lord is this thing GLORIOUS. I'd say it doesn't have quite the same hard punch as the Hypervolt, it does have dual heads, so covers more territory than the Hypervolt, so you get a comparable massage, but faster. Hopefully this one gives us another solid 20 years of use. Get one. You won't be sorry...totally worth the price.

UPDATE TO MY EARLIER REMARKS!
This is my second one. Had the original for about 20 years until the switch wore out. It's a great help when you overdo at the gym or while working in the yard. Would give it a 5 in all facets but it is a bit heavy, is awkward to manuver, and doesn't completely cure all muscle ails...but it really does help dissipate the soreness. The cheaper and smaller version, "sport" or "junior" model has some built-in problems, but this (original) version doesn't. Of course, all are made in China where product quality is non-existent, but this large version is something of an exception. I definately recommend it for relief of muscle soreness. And if, when you unpack it and everything works...I would say you have a "Keeper". JpnB UPDATE A year or so later, I'm gonna lower my rating because of one recurring, "unfixable" problem with these things.....the shoddy switch built into the handle. I have now had several of these massagers and every one exhibits the same problem namely; the switch constantly cuts on and off during use. Really annoying!!! In all other respects it is a good product, but the switch problem reduces its usefulness. I'm not alone in this experience either, several people I've spoken too who have also bought this massager, have all voiced the same complaint....the dumb switch constantly cuts on and off during use. Returning it for a replacement doesn't help solve this either; you get the same problem with the replacement unit. So, if you go ahead and buy one, just be aware that you are in for some mixed results because of a poorly designed switch. "Buyer Beware"...it's made in China!!! JonB

Money well spent !
This thing is so sturdy and definitely feels like a “buy it for life” product. It’s very powerful and in a lot of ways I prefer it over a professional masseuse. I’m able to target my problem areas and get instant relief that lasts hours!

Brilliant piece of equipment
I’ve suffered off and on with trapped nerves / knots in my back for a number of years. I have spent a fortune over the time on massages and physio sessions. As well as this I’ve had a Pulse Roll massager for years which I thought was good. This Thumper Pro Mini has worked so much better after only two sessions using it. Wish I’d read up on them a long time ago it would have saved a lot of money. It’s not cheap but from using it only twice it’s clear to see it will pay for itself. Obviously there are cheaper alternatives but after using it it’s 100% a case of “buy cheaper buy twice”. Power wise it is fine, ignore people saying that it has little power. In my opinion of using various systems this is as good as any for home use. Level 1 was all I used on my back to loosen up a very stubborn knot which my other massage gun wouldn’t remove at all. The two positions of massage “balls” on it work well to hit either side of any knots or directly on top of them. They fit perfectly either side of the spine also. The balls are soft enough to not have the uncomfortable feeling the massage “guns” can give where you feel itchy, but also solid enough to do the trick of actually massaging. No issues where it feels as though the contact massage points and “hammering” off more boney areas. Comfortable all round. Wire is nice and long to reach from a plug socket without restriction. Design is good for reaching around your back either laying face down or standing up if you have no one else to help out. I read about issues with the positioning of the power / speed button getting knocked off while using it but didn’t notice this at all. Also was used twice for 30 mins or longer without any overheating cut off. Noise wise it’s not very loud. It’s not quiet but no machine if this type ever will be silent. All in all very happy with it and would love to try out a Thumper Maxi Pro in the future if the price was right as I could imagine this being even better.

Franchement top !👍
