My laptop has a large internal SSD but I wanted to be able to create a portable backup so I needed a cable to attach my 1 TB external drive. The cable worked fine transferring data as fast at the drive could handle it and the fittings were nice and secure. I would recommend this cable because it has good quality and it's a great value.
