Is there a reason this 1U model wouldn't work with a 2U server?

Can i use this to mount a synology rs820+? i am looking for an alternative to "synology rail kit sliding rks-02", which you can see on amazon.

Will these rails cause the mounted device to sit higher, intruding into the next rack Unit? I have to skip 1U before.

Yes. I installed a 2U server on these 1U rails and because of flange on the bottom that supports the server it does sit higher and is now more like 2.1U and slightly interferes with the space above it. In my case I have a odd rack and there really was no other mount so it is what it is.
