Though he was carving in wood before his third birthday, the road to being a sculptor had detours to study for the priesthood, earn a degree in natural science, fly helicopters for the Marine Corp in Viet Nam, remain married for thirty years and raise a son to manhood. Essentially self-taught, Dave is a realistic sculptor whose primary subject is the human form. He strives to bring life to his work by carefully defining the underlying muscular and skeletal systems.
