Beadweaving Beyond the Basics: 24 Beading Designs Using Seed Beads, Crystals, Two-hole Beads and More

What a joy this book is! I am used to buying a book and there is only 2 or 3 projects that I want to make. As I was flipping through this one I got more and more excited as I wanted to make every project I saw. Now that I have had a chance to really study the book I am even more enthused. The instructions are well written and easy to follow with step by step pictures to back them up. The photography is beautiful and professional, more like fashion model photography than craft book. I was surprised that other than a couple projects most of the book is based on different variations of RAW but I don't consider that a negative rather just something to be aware of. The paper is really nice quality and the book is put together well. I can see this being a main reference book that I turn to time and time again.

This is definitely one of my top ten favourite beading books for the graceful styles involved. As far as projects go, rarely do I find a beadweaving book where every single one really compels me to make it: this is that kind of book. The instructions are clear, the photography is beautiful (and accurate of your end results), the diagrammes are great, and the supply lists complete. I would highly recommend this particular volume to all of my beading friends, from beginner to experienced, for the variety of projects included and the wearability (or in my case, giftability) of all. Solid book from a very talented new beader.

Very informative book and gave many styles to choose from. This book was a gift for my granddaughter. She said a couple of instructions were not clear but she is enjoying learning a new skill.

This is a wonderful book! It is full of beautiful designs, but more important, it is full of ideas. She talks about how she begins her design thoughts and then branches out to try other design ideas based on what she has started. It is very interesting to follow the process. The beads she uses are easy to find and her tools list is small and basic, I especially like this. She is a beautiful designer, but she is most of all inspiring to anyone who is a little afraid to jump in and try something on their own. The book also has a range of designs from small projects to as involved as you could wish to try. You will really enjoy and learn a lot from this book!

I've bought many beading books and sometimes I'm disappointed when there are just a few pieces in them I'd like to make. Well this book is not one of them, I love every project in here and can't wait to get started. The directions are well illustrated and look easy to follow. Lots of neat tips included (especially for lefties) and a gallery at the back of the book with more beautiful pieces and patterns that can be found on the authors website.

I have attached some images of projects I have made over the last year using the patterns from this book. I'm working my way through them all slowly and may skip a few, but overall I have found them to be enjoyable and am happy with the results.

Very well done instructional with easy to follow directions and clear, color diagrams. Timeless beading pieces to use as is or for inspiration. Probably not for a rank beginner but go ahead and order it anyway if you know you'll enjoy beading because the pieces are beautiful and the instructions make it so easy to follow. This is one of my favorite beading books.

Ce livre de 144 pages a une reliure souple glacée qui semble promettre de belles photos et réalisations en perspective, et l'on n'est pas du tout déçu ! AU CONTRAIRE ! Les pages sont en papier épais brillant. Sauf erreur, On y trouve plus ou moins 27 réalisations de colliers, pendentifs, bracelets avec en plus ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas, des schémas bien détaillés d'assez grand format ce qui est bien utile pour ceux qui ne comprennent pas l'anglais. Je ne pense pas qu'il convienne à des débutantes mais ce n'est pas mal de l'avoir pour l'encouragement à progresser... D'autant plus qu'il y a des modèles plus faciles à réaliser que d'autres... Tous les modèles sont présentés dans des teintes bien assorties et souvent de facture assez classique, je dirais qu'il s'agit de bijoux qui ont du chic ! Si l'on aime les bijoux métalliques, le livre ne convient pas mais si l'on aime le cristal, les rocailles japonaises de qualité, les on peut alors à coup sûr dire qu'il plaira !

A wonderful book by Kassie Shaw and a great addition to my collection of books. The instructions are well written – clear and concise; and lots of figurative step by step instructions to refer to. The colour combination of the different beads used are excellent and the photographs are beautiful. The beads and tools used are minimal and easily available. Many of the designs give rise to innovative ideas. I really enjoyed going through the book. A must have book for beaders. I loved the Queen of Diamonds bracelet with seed beads and pearls using the Double Diamond Right Angle Weave, the Dainty Lace necklace with seed beads, glass pearls and SuperDuo beads, the lovely Star flower pendant using a27 mm crystal pointed-back stone using the bezel method along with the rope necklace using seed beads, glass pearls and SuperDuo beads. All the firewheel pendants are lovely. There is one bracelet design using 2-hole lentil beads and another bracelet using 4mm fire polished beads. I liked the layered right angle method for making bracelets and necklaces. So is the collection of pendants.

Es un libro con unos proyectos muy bonitos. No es preciso tener una cantidad diferente de abalorios ingentes, como sucede con otras publicaciones, en las que los proyectos son muy bonitos pero no se es capaz de encontrar las piezas para llevarlas a cabo. Los esquemas son grandes y fáciles de entender. Tiene unas explicaciones muy claras.
