My 10/22 td came with the williams fire sights.  will i be able to see the rear sight?

As delivered from Ruger you may not be able to see your Fire Sights since they may be all the way down. Once you adjust them correctly at a range they will be high enough to see through this rail. My sights were flat on the barrel, way too low, before adjusting.

Question 2

Can I use this rail with fixed Warne 1inch medium scope rings and use factory iron sights as back up?

Accepted Answer

This mount allows you to see the factory iron sights viewed from beneath the scope. Rings do not obscure your view. To attempt to hunt small game with this system would be difficult because your field of view looking through the  peep slot at the front iron sight and beyond to your prey is very restricted. It is like looking through the ring file hole in a piece of paper. If the hole is an inch away from your eyeball your field of view is wide enough.  If the hole is 6 inches away from your eye you can still see the target but your field of view is too narrow.

Can I use this rail with fixed Warne 1 inch medium rings and still use iron factory sights also?

Accepted Answer

Any optic mount with cross bolts/screws is going to block the channel and obscure the irons. If you want to ensure you can use irons in the event of an optics failure or regularly install/remove optics this is a great option to save the step of removing the rail as well.

Question 4

Will I be able to use my stock iron sights with this mount installed when I detach my scope with qd mounts?

It works for irons *with* a scope attached -- not as well as it claimed in my case, but well enough!  In fairness; my particular scope choice may have made it more difficult for dual use than other scopes out there...  I used a Bushnell 22 cal purpose built 2-7 or 3-9 model.   I remain happy with the way it has worked nonetheless; despite not being able to "perfectly use irons with scope attached", they remain very much usable.
