Upon receipt, I tested the strips with plain water (control), a cup of water with malitol syrup (sugar free imitation honey), and water with real honey (full natural sugar). The control (water) did not change at all. The imitation honey remained blue, although brighter. The real honey instantly became brown. I purchased this after ordering a diet soft drink and getting a full sugar version. That experience caused my sugars to rollercoaster for the next two days. I am usually a water drinker, but due to migraines, I will purchase coffee or zero sodas for the caffiene. Getting a full sugar version has only happened to me about 4 times in the last 3 years, but its enough to want to avoid forever. These strips give me that peace of mind. The package comes with two small canisters. I gave one to my father. The cost is negligible. Its convenient and worth the investment. I keep mine with my glucometer.

This is a great product for doing what it says it will do. I see some reviews that are docking stars because it didn't show sugar in tea or kombucha. It isn't made for that. It literally says for diet soda, so if you aren't testing a diet soda it likely won't work. That isn't a fault of the product. That isn't what it's made for. So 5 stars because it will tell you if your SODA is diet or not.

These work and have been a lifesaver for my wife! She has Type 1 Diabetes and many times has been served regular soda. She keeps the strips in her purse and when she got a fountain drink that was supposed to be diet but tasted funny to her she tested it. Right away it came back that it was regular soda. This saved her a headache with her blood sugar later and we were able to let the gas station know and they did have regular soda hooked up to the diet. It does happen unfortunately. This is worth the money for our peace of mind.

This works on more than just soda. I used it on a sugar free coffee and found that it was not sugar free. They re made it and it came out sugar free the second time around. It also works on tea as well. Daughter got her normal sweet tea and I got my un sweet tea, hers turned my did not.

These Diet Detector teststrips are a must have for people who have diabetes, tells you if your drink is diet or non diet before drinking it. This is my second time buying it and I can honestly say it helped me make sure my drink is diet when I order a soda from restaurants as I’ve been given a regular soda instead of diet soda as I am person with diabetes.

Following a low carb diet and worried about restaurants and bars accidentally serving non diet drinks. These sticks work perfectly, i’ve tested them in both diet and drinks with sugar and they quickly show the difference. Excellent product with very convenient storage small tube for the test strips so can be carrying about easily.

I can't believe I had not heard of these before! They are amazing. I have been mistakenly given sugary soft drinks many times, mostly because the staff members did not pay attention when I would ask for sugar free drinks. I carry these test strips in my bag and I always feel safe when ordering non bottled drinks.
