Review: Pretty Dang Happy! - First off, let's deal with the elephant in the room - this bag is tiny. I mean, almost comically tiny. I'm about 6'1" and 220 lbs, and this is almost like a clown accoutrement. However, that being said, it's just about right for what I needed. I wanted something for my bugout bag that wasn't 10 times too big. Now, my bugout bag doesn't have to last me three days in the mountains of Afghanistan, or conceal an M4 Carbine and 20 magazines of ammunition - it's just a few basic essentials that I might need if I ever found myself in a situation where I was on my own to get somewhere safe. It's kind of a Micro-BOB, if you will. And for that, this bag is perfect. I was a little worried what I was going to get for the price. I've got some Maxpedition and 5.11 products, and I have to say, they may cost 5 times what this bag did, but they're in no way 5 times better. This is an impressive little pack for the twenty bux it cost me. It seems heavy duty, well made, with good stitching and a lot of nice pockets and pouches. Zippers work smoothly, and there's plenty of adjustability in the straps. No, it's probably never going to have a military NSN number, and you won't see U.S. Navy SEALS carrying this on covert ops, but it's a well made pack with a lot of useful potential. I'll certainly be looking at Red Rock's products again in the future. After putting things together, here's a list of everything that's crammed into this versatile little pack: Sawyer soft-pack first aid kit Buck 5-1/2" fixed-blade knife 50 ft of paracord Gerber folding saw Pair of Mechanix Fast-Fit gloves Chemical Light-Stick Pair of Bandage Scissors Bic Lighter 3 Esbit solid fuel cubes Potable Aqua water purifier tablets, with a bottle of neutralizer 2 LightLoad compressed towels Silva compass Whistle Leatherman "Crunch" tool Small tube of sunscreen Small can of DEET insect repellent Starflash signal mirror Small roll of Gorilla duct tape 1/2 roll of toilet paper, mashed flat Small knife sharpener Rite-in-the-Rain pen Mylar emergency sleeping bag Cotton bandanna 1-liter bottle of Dasani water LED Flashlight 2 pr Vinyl gloves And yes, all that fit in this little pack! It's "packed" - but it fit!
Review: Perfect for me! - So I purchased this bag to use as an EDC (Every Day Carry) I work as an EMT and it just isn't practical to carry a purse to work. That is just asking for it to get stolen! Not only that but there just isn't much room to stow a lot of personal belongings in the front cabin. This bag is the perfect size for what I need, granted I will say I wouldn't mind if it was a tad bit bigger. But that may be the estrogen talking. If you are wondering exactly how big this bag is, it's about as tall and wide as a sheet of printer paper. ( check out the pics i loaded as a reference) So that means you should have NO ISSUE fitting an iPad with a case inside this pack. It has: 2- Zippered compartments on the front. (The bottom zippered compartment also has a small zippered pouch for smaller items.) 1- Zippered pouch located on the inside of the main compartment, towards the top 2- Interior pouches ( 1- on the anterior side and 1- on the posterior side of the main compartment.) 1- Exterior concealed carry pouch (located on the posterior side of the bag) The pack has plenty of MOLLE on the front and sides of the pack. I personally like to use some of the side MOLLE to attach some hair clips to. (again the estrogen talking ;) But works great! The possibilities for this pack are endless! With a little creativity you can do quite a bit with this small little guy. While it does not have MOLLE on the bottom of the pack, Ill bet with a little creativity you could string some paracord through and secure say a light jacket for a day hike! Anyways, If you are looking for a SMALL tactical pack, this little guy may just be the one for you! I will be getting a second one in black for my brother to use when he goes out riding his "crotch rocket". The quality should do, it isn't perfect but for the money, I don't think you can beat this pack! Update: So I have had this pack now for a little over a year. For the most part, it has held up! Some of the molle on the shoulder sling has come off. I would use those loops to attach my keys too, so realistically, the molle in that area did not prove to be very durable. However, everything else has stood the test of my abuse. I literally just throw the thing into the truck behind the seat and yank it out when I need it. So I'd say it has done pretty well, considering. I've looked at other small packs, and just haven't been convinced to buy any other ones yet. This one works just fine for what I need. Hope it does the same for you! :-D 2020 UPDATE: SOOOO ... it’s been 6 years and my trusty little pack FINALLY needs to be replaced. (*sigh*) I look back fondly though, chuckling to myself at how the majority of the time that little pack was stuffed full of snacks I pocketed from various hospitals LOL ... Anyways, 6 YEARS is a pretty long time and for the price ... I give this pack 5 stars! I added a few more pictures, showing the damage it sustained over the years. I was NOT gentle with it. I yanked that thing from behind the back of the seat probably a million times. I’m NOT saying it’s indestructible but I felt it held up pretty dang good for the $25 I spent on it.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: what are the dimensions of the bag i'm looking for something i can use as a carry on that will hold my 17" laptop**
A: Dimensions are as specified. I just tried to fit a 13' Macbook Pro in mine and it will NOT fit. As the air is only thinner but not smaller in height I would expect it not to fit either The width and height would be OK except the corners of both the bottom and more severely the top taper a bit reducing the effective usable "height." In other words, the corners of the computer keep the bag from being able to be zipped.

That aside, I love this bag. I've had it for four years during which it has traveled over 30K miles across three continents. It has been at the beach, in the jungle, in the desert, and on top of mountains. It is only now beginning to show a bit of wear with a couple of loose threads and small 1 cm tear in the bottom where it looks like the threads just started to wear through. The zippers don't have branding on them, but they hold up to any bag with YKK's I've ever had.

If you need a bag to hold a 13" and like this style, it is pretty much copy of the Maxpedition Malaga. However the Malaga is just slightly bigger allowing it to hold a 13" laptop with a minimal bezel like the Apples.

**Q: I'm a police officer, would this be a good "Go Bag" to hold extra Magazines, medical supplies, extra gear, etc?**
A: The bag is great for Magazines and medical supplies. It would depend on the size of the gear. Just remember it's not a full size bag but it is a great bag to have.

**Q: would it hold a 15" laptop?**
A: I have one as well. There is no possibility of a laptop fitting. My iPad fits just fine.

**Q: How big is the concealed pouch and is it well hidden?**
A: It's about 7x7 and it is pretty well hidden. I tried 3 packs before this one. One being the 5-11 rush 10. I like this pack so much I just bought a second in a different color. You could fit a 1911 snugly. I carry a xds 45 in mine. Lots of pockets. Awesome pack for the price.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good EDC bag
*by J***. on June 21, 2016*

Excellent little EDC pack. The size is perfect for a day's needs, plus you have the option of expansion with MOLLE pouches, etc. a versatile assortment of pockets, with a good-sized main one, and several small ones (zippered & not). I believe it's a knockoff or very similar to a much more expensive pack; I do not regret getting this cheaper one. I like the buckle in the shoulder strap for ease of ingress/egress, as in order to have the bag sit right against my back I need it cinched tighter than what is comfortable to slip over my head (YRMV). The grab handle on top makes it convenient to pick up as well as hold while it's unbuckled. The semi-secret pocket along the rear of the pack, behind the back padding, is a nice touch for conceal & carry. This deep sleeve has a snap on a strap at the top of the opening, with a plastic "D-loop" attached to it to give purchase for a rapid disengagement of said snap to access your firearm. There is a panel of "loop-side" hook & loop material inside of it for attaching a soft holster w/matching "hooks." It fully conceals my double stack Taurus Millennium G2 9mm no problem, and while wearing the pack, the pocket is entirely hidden up against the wearer's back. You need only to swivel the pack to your front side for easy (tho RHO) access to your firearm. I haven't tested this theory, but if you stuff the pack overfull, the firearm could possibly "print" from the sides as the pack bulges away from your back. My biggest gripe is the "tablet/book" sleeve inside the main pocket. It will hold my iPad (even in it's thin case), so the size is not a concern. However, the elastic keeper strap at the top of this sleeve uses the worst hook & loop material I have ever seen in my life. The loop side started fraying and "poofing" after only a couple uses, and the hooks hardly catch & hold onto the loops. Also, I'd prefer the hooks on the elastic strap & not the face of the sleeve, so that if I have it undone (or when it comes undone, because it will), the hooks aren't catching on whatever else I have in the main pocket. Minor secondary gripe: not all of the MOLLE loops are sewn on evenly. This may pose a problem if they don't fit an attachment because of it, but I haven't tried as I don't need to make this bag any bigger. Minor terciary gripe: the auxiliary "stabilizer" strap that buckles into the main shoulder strap at the wearer's chest dangles awkwardly down from the pack if not engaged. I usually don't use it & so tuck it into the MOLLE webbing, but it'd be nice to have another, mating buckle on the side of the pack just to clip the strap to when not in use. Another $5 on the purchase price, invested into materials & QC, would IMO make this a perfect pack. As-is, it's not perfect, but very good for the money.
