Earl Diamond Peep Holes for Door, with Privacy Cover, Oil Rubbed Bronze

This peep hole is larger than most cheap ones. So will most likely have to make the hole bigger. Installation was pretty easy once the hole was made bigger. The functionality is perfect. Has a wider area is views which is excellent for security. Also, it has a door so no one outside can see shadows or movement if the door is covering the glass. Very durable. High quality material. No included accessories, just wants needed for the peep hole.

I wanted to replace an existing peephole that was over 40 years old; however, my husband didn't think it was necessary. I bought this one anyway. It's fantastic with crystal clear viewing of our entire front porch and into the yard. Yes, that means that my husband installed it for me even though it required a bit of enlarging of the hole for it to fit. And funny thing. . . .it's viewing is so great that he wants me to buy another one to replace a different old peephole that we have in another door! :) So I'll be ordering another one! Besides how well it works, it's of high quality and looks wonderful. We live in a rural area so it's critical for me to see who's on the other side of the door before I open it. I highly recommend it.

This is a very good high quality peep hole. Made of brass and the lenses are of good quality. They install very easily just make sure you have the right hole dozer and if enlarging your existing you will need a step drill bit until you enlarge the hole to the right size. Take note of the door width since the Peep Hole will only accommodate doors of a specified width, don't screw them in too far since you will scratch the lens with the cover. I used a set of large O-Rings for my thinner doors but found that a bicycle bottom bracket spacer will work better. Size 29mm x 36mm x 2mm aluminum washer. These Earl Diamond Peep holes work great and are at a great price point. I bought three one for the front door, garage door and one for our safe room. Two in antique brass which look great and one in the dark oil rubbed bronze which kind of looks like dark silver but it blends with a dark walnut color door. Very nice.

This thing feels super solid and has a great viewing angle. Couldn't be simpler to install, if you're comfortable with drilling a hole through your door. I like that is has a privacy flap. For added peace of mind, I put a layer of silicone adhesive sealant on the external seating ring just so I know for sure no moisture is getting inside my door.

The product in and of its self is great. Solid, appears to be made of brass. Field of veiw is great. REVERSE VIEW (outside to inside)- completely clouded without interior cover in place. Attached pic is view I see... Red line indicates 9feet/274cm from the door it is in. But, I mounted mine higher (6ft) than most people will probably do (I'm exceptionally tall, and don't want to bend over to look through this). Only complaint, no flat spots to tighten sight glass into/onto door after drilling holes. I did grind some so I could do so...(second pic)

Best door viewer that I've tried. The large diameter tube and the rear lens give a clear wide view. Don't have to put eye real close to see. All metal, well made. Like the push up cover. Looks good from inside. Obviously the 220 degree view is inaccurate (a flat door only allows for 180 max) but the view is great. Must be a typo. Would buy again.

Actual viewing angle is NOT 220 degrees, this is grossly misrepresented in the product title and description. After installing and testing the peephole, the true viewing angle is closer to 150 degrees, leaving "blind" zones large enough for a perpetrator to hide in. Another issue, what they call "oil rubbed bronze" is closer to copper, so the black peephole is probably a better match to true oil rubbed bronze. Overall manufacturing seems of good quality, thus the three stars.

Was installed easily and has a large view! Recommend!

Works very well if you has a good view angle, a picture appears large and very clear; installation was easy. If I could add one thing that would be a thin silicon gasket to improve how tight it can be installed.
