Life gets pretty boring when you can beat the snot out of any villain with just one punch. Nothing about Saitama passes the eyeball test when it comes to superheroes, from his lifeless expression to his bald head to his unimpressive physique. However, this average-looking guy has a not-so-average problem—he just can’t seem to find an opponent strong enough to take on! Every time a promising villain appears, Saitama beats the snot out of ’em with one punch! Can he finally find an opponent who can go toe-to-toe with him and give his life some meaning? Or is he doomed to a life of superpowered boredom? Review: I want to collect it all! - One Punch Man Volume 1 was an amazing read. I absolutely loved the simplicity of the story, the great artwork, and the comedy throughout. It was super easy to read and hard to put down. Everything flowed so well, making it a fun and enjoyable experience from start to finish. On top of that, the book arrived in perfect condition. Highly recommend. Review: A Punch Above the Rest: A Power-Packed 5-Star Review - Embarking on the exhilarating journey into the world of 'One-Punch Man' with Volume 1 has been an absolute thrill, and it's with great enthusiasm that I award it a well-deserved five stars. Here's why this volume is a powerhouse of storytelling: Saitama's unique brand of heroism is a breath of fresh air. Volume 1 introduces us to Saitama, a hero who can defeat any opponent with a single punch. His nonchalant attitude and deadpan expressions create a comedic dynamic that sets the series apart. The humor is brilliantly executed. 'One-Punch Man' blends epic superhero action with humor seamlessly. Volume 1 is filled with laugh-out-loud moments, from Saitama's unimpressed reactions to the over-the-top villains he faces, to the satirical take on superhero tropes. The artwork by Yusuke Murata is a visual feast. The level of detail in the character designs, action sequences, and world-building is extraordinary. Murata's artistry elevates the series, making every punch and explosion a spectacle to behold. The action sequences are dynamic and exciting. Volume 1 delivers exhilarating battles that showcase the creative and visually stunning combat style of 'One-Punch Man.' The choreography and pacing of the fights add an extra layer of excitement to the narrative. The introduction of the Hero Association adds depth to the story. Volume 1 sets the stage for the hero ranking system and the challenges faced by heroes in a world filled with monsters and villains. It adds an intriguing layer to the superhero narrative. Character depth and development are hinted at. While Saitama's overwhelming strength is a constant, Volume 1 provides glimpses into his character and the potential for growth. The series promises more than just action, offering layers of depth to the characters. 'One-Punch Man, Vol. 1' is a knockout introduction to a series that defies expectations. It's funny, action-packed, and visually stunning, making it a must-read for manga enthusiasts. Five stars – because the punchline is just the beginning of this extraordinary superhero journey! 🌟💥📖

One Punch!
An amazing new concept in superhero stories. One-Punch Man is a revolution. If you like superhero stories, get it on this now. What is it? One-Punch Man is basically a "meta" story, often reflecting on tropes of the superhero genre and making fun of them in a smart way. In the first fight in the comics, a villain is stomping around town until our hero saves a girl from his clutches. The villain asks who is this man who interferes and One-Punch Man says.... drumroll please... "someone who is a hero for fun". The villain screams in outrage, that's now how a superhero backstory is supposed to work! He then goes into his own backstory, how he was created from the pollution of man and he's Earth's vaccine against the human race (which is probably the author's take on the backstory of Godzilla). The resulting fight is deflated, of course, with one punch. This is the central gag. The superhero genre, from comic books to movies, takes itself a little too seriously and it's time to take the whole genre down a peg. No seriously, what is it? One-Punch takes its premise and runs with it, asking the ultimate question of the superhero genre- what if your superhero is too powerful? Instead of trying to invent monsters or situations that can defeat One-Punch and resulting in increasingly complex layers of nonsense, the meat of the story is more often about how Saitama (that's the real name of One-Punch) is just bored and depressed by his new life. He yearns for a real challenge, he dreams of ultimate fights, but the moment a villain looks promising he defeats that villain with a move like "series of normal punches". It's a human story, about what would happen if you were to get everything you ever wanted, and would getting the things you want actually make you happy. Sure, there are plenty of tropes along the way. There's an evil organization, there's a robot doctor, there's an increasingly powerful group of villains- essentially setting up a lone of dominos that will all go down in "One Punch", and it's glorious to read. If you're completely lost, if you "don't get it", that's okay. Maybe One-Punch isn't for you. But for legions of fans who grew up on Superman comics, and people who were caught up in the ultra-realism and grittiness of Batman and the Dark Knight comics and movie, this is a sorely needed refresher for the genre. Sometimes it's just the right time for a certain concept, and that's definitely the case here. One-Punch is beautifully drawn, with a range of art styles employed to emphasize each situation. One-Punch Man himself is often drawn with a very simple egg-shaped head, to emphasize how disarming his presence can be. Villains and action scenes meanwhile, are often animated in excruciating detail, showing real dedication from the artist. The jokes are thick and excellent, and often accentuated by the art. In one example, Saitama is going about his daily life as a news report talks about the origins of the monsters and the government response, and the text goes blurry as he falls asleep from being bored and not caring about the backstory (again, fans of the genre will probably "get it"). And you should get this, today. Highly recommended to fans of anything to do with superheroes.

My first purchase for the Kindle app - Definitely worth it!
It's a shame that this can only be read on Kindle. Don't get me wrong, if you have a Kindle (or any other tablet with the Kindle app...which is free by the way), it's still great! I just miss the feel of reading comics (in this case, manga) in it's physical form. The story follows our hero, Saitama, who yearned to become a strong hero. And what sounds like a happy ending, our hero accomplishes his dream. He is the strongest hero.... now what? Besides that kind of premise, the series also takes jabs at hero organizations and the clash of hero ideals and real human emotion. Basically, an organization comprised of heroes that "earned" their way to the top, whether through hard work, using others, recognition, what have you. The art....phenomenal! The level of detail is incredibly refreshing and acts as a medium for the story as well as a prop to deliver humor. The hero Saitama, the strongest hero in the world (and beyond) is depicted with the crudest and most sloppily drawn art style. This not only adds humour to the story, but also acts as an homage to the story's original author (his original webcomics were drawn with obvious amateur skill). However, this version retains the original author yet is teamed with a professional artist that can transition between heavy details and bare minimalism. For the price, this is a great buy. I've been able to read and re-read this (as well as the other volumes) enjoying the story and artwork, especially if passing time on a bus or airplane. Another helpful feature is that this, unlike a few Marvel comics I've bought for Kindle app, lets you zoom and gyroscopically rotate pages. This allows the reader to enjoy any pages that are double-page works of art. Rate this 5 of 5 - Story is a refreshing take on the superhero genre - Art is too amazing - Price is not steep at all (compared to other comics available on Kindle) - Great for longtime fans of manga and also those new to the scene (don't forget to read panels Right to Left)

It's a Funny Comic
One-Punch Man pokes fun at the trend of overpowered comic book superheroes. Saitama, the One-Punch Man, is so strong that he can defeat any villain with just one punch. Many writers would introduce some sort of secret weakness, equally overpowered villain, or mind control device to provide the hero with some kind of threat. The author of One-Punch Man, ONE, does not. The result is funny and entertaining. One-Punch Man originally began as a somewhat crudely-drawn webcomic. In this manga adaptation, the artwork has been updated by Yusuke Murata, and it's gorgeous. Some of the art even seems to have been enhanced digitally. One-Punch Man Vol. 1 is mostly fighting scenes. The writing that does exist feels stunted and lacking. Less is more in comic books, but the conversations and narration just do not flow well. Someone cleaned up the unprofessional (but hilarious) silliness of the webcomic, but stopped short of making everything sound well in English. A LOT of the fight scenes involve two-page or 1.5 page spreads, which is annoying for those reading on Kindle (you'll need to switch to landscape mode). This will take you a lot less time to read than a typical graphic novel with a similar page count. I'd guess you can breeze through this in 30 minutes to an hour. One-Punch Man isn't a great value for the money when compared to Dragon Ball or Dr. Slump, but Amazon's current price is only fifty cents more than a typical print American comic book ($3.99), which takes even less time to read. I was entertained. It was funny and gorgeous. I will be purchasing the second volume soon.

Excellent Digital Edition
One-Punch Man volume was a fantastic read with plenty of comedy and action all throughout. Though Saitama is the One Punch Man getting everything in as little as one punch or even consecutive ones, he still has a great partner by his side Genos who really offers us the traditional nearly perfect hero type character that would be the lead in numerous stories. Though ONE hasnt made him that way and often makes him the one most can relate too, Genos is still fun to have around and great. He is personally my favorite and I am glad he remains a a part of this series. Saitama is a good lead as well and one that gives many memorable panels with his facial expressions when things happen. Quality wise, though this series is originally posted online in an online magazine in which Murata takes full advantage of throwing in color pages, the Black and White version of the moments are still articitically rendered well. He does good using great use of perspectives, blurring the text at times even to focus on some details in the panels. One must also commend how the SFX arent just on the same plane as the text but move in line with the action too. The redrawers had to have done miracles to get it looking this good even as often times the words would move in line with hose the characters flew, or be at the same angle in line with the angle of whatever action is happening in a panel. It is a small touch but one that added a great additional layer of submersion to the action. One-Punch Man is off to an amazing start and Viz has done well to do nothing to inhibit the experience that Murata and One has aimed for. Getting it digitally is a great thing and with numerous page spreads it looks quite beautiful on the kindle hd. Its a must buy. Included bonuses is a bonus chapter of Saitama in his school days age, as well as two bonus illustrations, and one short two or so page snowy hill story with Saitama.

Fantastico!!
