Review: Excellent...but... - This is a very nice product. It is reasonably priced, nicely designed, easily installed, and functions well. My only suggestion would be to include slightly longer bolts and appropriate nuts. I did this on my own, and the holder is now solidly installed for the long haul. Such hardware could not possibly cost that much more, and would add little to the price. There would be no more reports of the holder detaching. Still, great product.

**Q: Will this fit a wooden canoe paddle?**
A: I don’t know the dimensions of a wooden canoe paddle but most likely not.  It fits round kayak paddles up to about an inch in diameter.

**Q: What size drill bit did you use for the screws?**
A: I used a 1/16. Screw fit tight. Put on the flattest surface you can find

**Q: What is the minimum to maximum distance for the mounting screws?**
A: I spread mine out as far as they would go. It holds well. I would not put them close, that would be a small area of plastic those screws would be sharing. Hope this helps you

**Q: What material is it made out of?  Marine grade metal or plastic?**
A: Plastic
