Review: Distress Purchase. - Came home after a few days away to find my tower PC was dead. As it was doing absolutely nothing, I was 99.9% certain the power supply had expired, especially as it had been popping capacitors intermittantly for a few months. So, overwhelmed with choice, I chose this one. The original fitted was a mere 160W and almost certainly overloaded; this being a 700W unit should have power to spare. With power supplies, the more they are over rated the longer they last, generally. A bit tricky to fit as it was a squeeze to fit into the PSU space, so had to strip the case out to so so. With that done, the rest was easy. Enough plugs to run my 4 or 5 SATA discs in the box without resorting to adapters. The only bit that had me fooled for a while was the 2x 8 pin connectors. It took me a while to figure out that 1 was for the motherboard and the other, presumably for a graphics accelerator. Simple once had this worked out (I used to mend computers for a living 40 odd years ago, butback then, they were in multiple 19 inch racks and generally ran on 3-phase). It's been running for several weeks without issue and is significantly quieter than the old unit. In fact - the "silent" fan on the CPU is noisier. It looks to have been a good purchase.
Review: Awesome - Everyone knows that old guy that looks rough as houses but is hard as nails. This is what your getting. It may not look all fancy with a big name, but it sure as hell does what its meant to. Being short of cash, i was slightly weary of ordering a psu that wasnt a big like corsair. That said, this unit has been amazing so far. Its quiet, and is happily running msi b550 m.board, 5600x cpu, 3060ti, 2x hdd, 1x ssd, amd prism cooler, and 7 fans with plenty power to spare for overclocking.

**Q: Is this 700w or 500 cos it says 700 in title but 500 in specs which is it ?**
A: Depends.  If you use all the voltages at their optimum level then yes, it's 700 watts+.  However, since about 570 output watts of that is allocated to the +12V supply and so If you are heavily loading the 3.3V or 5V supplies I'd expect it to struggle.

**Q: Will this work for a amd rx 580 graphics card and does it come with cables such as the 230v power cable and an 8 pin pcie?**
A: A qualified "yes" to the AMD card which recommends a 500watt power supply (and consumes 185watts).  The qualification, of course, is what else you have in your system and there's not easy way apart from working out your expected total power needed.

Cables, PCI-E 6+2 = 8 so yes it does - read the specification.

As for the mains cable, to be honest, can't remeber, but it's a standard IEC.

**Q: I'm buying this to replace my old psu as it got burnt. i need to buy new computer cable for this, so does it matter if i get 5a \ 250v or 10a 250v?**
A: When you say computer cable, assume you mean the 3 pin mains cable to the power supply.  In which case, no, it doesn't really matter.  The 5 amp version would do for a 1200 watt power supply assuming it is from a reputable source.
That said, I'd always go for the 10a version because they are usually physically stronger.

**Q: My graphics card and motherboard both need a 6pin connector, will this power supply work ?**
A: You'll need a 6-pin splitter cable (available on Amazon ...) but otherwise no reason why not.

This looks identical to a no-brand 'builder' PSU I bought earlier. The capacitors look cheap, but so far it works OK. I have reservations over its long-term reliability, given other reviews read since purchase, and the look of the components used. However, my computer build isn't using anywhere close to its stated 700 Watt capacity - so fingers crossed!
