## Description

desertcart.com: besgrow Premium New Zealand Sphagnum Moss, 100g (8L When Hydrated) - Harvested Sustainably from The Pristine West Coast of New Zealand's South Island

Review: Like those expanding dinosaur kids toys - I never leave reviews, but there's some confusion on just how much moss you get in a package so I wanted to clear that up with pictures. I can't figure out how to upload pics tho. So I'll be descriptive instead. This is for the 100 gram package. I'll also say up front: This is my first sphagnum moss and I haven't planted anything yet, but the quality seems incredible. The strands are long and strong and resilient, the color is nice, and I expected there to be lots of dust and broken bits in the water after expansion. But there weren't really. So the amounts. When I opened the envelope I didn't expect it to be my moss... so tiny! Like a small paperback. Think Great Gatsby? The thinness seemed like a scam. Then I dipped it in water and was amazed how much bigger it got. Started feeling pretty good about the deal. And also it made an entertaining shape, but that's not interesting without a picture. By then my bowl of water had been almost completely absorbed, so I filled it back up and left the moss the soak for 10 minutes. When I came back, holy moly. It was huge. And instead of a tightly woven brick, it was a nice pliable mass that held itself together, but you could work a chunk out without tearing a ton of strands as well. In the end, this moss just about fills a gallon ziplock when it's good and hydrated. Not like stuffed to the brim - it fit well but the bag looks full. So that's how much moss you get in the 100g package. Almost a gallon. Enjoy!
Review: Really great spag!! - This is the first time using this type of packaging and the highly condensed spag moss but once added to filtered water it came to life! It literally came to life in my plant bins. Honestly I use this on my reptiles & plants and this is superior to others imo. Will continue to buy this.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: If I hydrate the block can I let it dry it fully then use it for stuff if I don’t want to use the whole block at 1 time**
A: Yes as long as moss is completely dry can be stored indefinitely.

**Q: Is this safe for crested geckos?**
A: I can't speak for Geckos. Can tell you have sold for use in pet applications. This Sphagnum is compressed. needs to be hydrated before use.

**Q: This picture is confusing, it shows 4 different sizes but no option to buy different sizes..what gives?**
A: Picture is misleading. Stock photo showing 3 sizes. What you get is what quart size you're paying for (whatever single package it is). You don't get "all three." The advertiser or manufacturer "saves money" by showing the various size packages.

**Q: What are the dimension of the 100-gram brick (L, W, H) while still dry and in its plastic wrapping?**
A: I can not tell you the dimensions of the package .I do remember thinking I paid to for shipping not moss.it is nice moss but I will not buy it again,Moss is Hard to find in the fall and winter months...✨✨✨

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ New Zealand Sphagnum Moss from Besgrow
*by C***Y on October 18, 2017*

After a lot of research across the Net, Sphagnum moss is the method and the moss experienced orchid growers recommend to those of us without experience for repotting our orchids. I started out by bringing a large bowl of water to a boil then dropping a chunk of the spagmoss brick into the bowl. I gently separated the strands with a fork as it grew. You can probably skip boiling the water, one of the things I learned is there are microscopic organisms that can survive the drying process, if you are immune compromised or have lung disease you are susceptible to this infection either by inhaling or if it enters your system through a small cut. They recommend gloves, soaking in boiling water and taking care not to inhale the particles in the moss dust. I left the moss in the water overnight to insure it was cooled completely and proceeded from there. I love the nice, clean look of the new moss that can be seen on top of the planter. My orchid looks happy in her new home. I am very satisfied with this purchase and I would recommend you try Spagmoss if it is time to repot your lovely plant. If you only have one or two orchids you probably don’t want to store a big bale of moss. By purchasing this small brick you only re-wet the amount you plan on using. Just a little goes a long way and you always have fresh moss on hand. Store the brick in the wrapper it came in, in an air tight storage bag or Tupperware type container.
