Install the new hex head hinge bolt, just keep it loose. You then tilt the mount upwards to install the light fixture. I had these installed on my Wrangler JL. They're great. Very sturdy, great material and quality. Simple design, easy to install. Ordered these again for my new Gladiator but they don't fit. Does fit other Gladiator models though. Easy to install and very sturdy. There were no sharp edges. All edges were deburred or chamfered. It came originally black, but the finish faded over time (almost a year). It is a greyish-brown now, which I think looks fine. It almost looks anodized - not powder coated, as advertised. These were a much better deal when I bought them ($15.99 + tax). Fits perfect on my 2020 Gladiator.Update 12-2-23: I removed one star due to the color fading. See the last two pictures. You can see the original black from the light's footprint. It has faded to almost a grey/bronze color. I will probably spray paint it black.
