These cut threads brilliantly but when I caught my finger by accident, to my surprise, it didn’t cut me (I know that’s what supposed to happen). Although the longer blade is intended for cutting overlocking, it is also easy to use on any stitching because of the quite fine point. I have been taking apart some old items of clothing to make patterns from and the original blade is still perfectly good after several hours use so I have no reason to doubt their claim about longevity. The long handle makes it easy to hold, especially it you have big hands, I find the standard thread cutters to small and fiddly. The blades are quite expensive but if they last as long as claimed, they will work out fairly reasonable value for money.
