So This is Love

I absolutely loved This is Love by Elizabeth Lim. It starts off feeling familiar to the original Cinderella story, but then slowly transforms into something completely its own—and I was hooked the entire time.The adventure, the heroism, the magic… it all felt so whimsical and emotional while still staying true to the heart of Cinderella. I especially loved the hidden-in-plain-sight romance woven throughout the story. There’s something so satisfying about a love story that’s been there all along without the characters fully realizing it.Since Cinderella has always been my favorite princess, this book felt extra special to me. It captured everything I love about fairytales while giving me a fresh story that still honored the original. Magical, heartfelt, adventurous, and romantic in all the best ways. ✨

So I did not have high expectations for this book only because the Cinderella tale was not my favorite Disney story and theres been so many rewrites. But I was pleasantly surprised by this alternate ending. I also loved how the original story was alluded to even if vaguely. I just thought this story gave a better lesson than the original in what it takes to get your happy ending.

My granddaughter who is 11 loves this series of books. She finished this one in less than a week!! I will never complain about a price for a book!!

I absolutely love the Disney Cinderella already so I of course got this immediately. I read it after watching the movie 😅 and whereas I feel sometimes the characters are done a disservice in these twisted tales series, I felt like this one actually stayed true to its original. And when I say original I mean the Disney one it is based off of. The Duke is a believable villain in this story. Maybe that is where my slight ding in stars come from. He is written well it’s just I think I preferred Lady Tremaine being the main antagonist. I also like that they gave a reason for why she had a fairy godmother in the first place. Overall though, a very easy read and a good what if take.

This was the first Twisted Tales Books I couldn’t put down! Wonderfully written story! I love how Lim picked up on a place where Cinderella was at the ball and then from there created a story line of what Cinderella’s life would be like if her helpful mice in the movie did not come to the rescue. The character evolution of Cinderella from a once abused house maid to a woman finding herself and her confidence really made for a wonderful story. At first it’s a bit unnerving that Cinderella doesn’t pursue trying on the slipper, but Lim does a wonderful job of describing an abused women’s thoughts, fears, and low self esteem. This book wasn’t only a wonderful spin on Cinderella, it was a wonderful story of a relatable heroine searching for her purpose and worth. I highly recommend this book to any Disney and any Twisted Tales Fan!

Perfect read for Disney fans

Cinderella is my favorite early Disney story so it took a bit for me to decide to read this book thinking that Cinderella would end up being sold or worse being her stepmother and stepsister servant forever. I might love this story a bit more than the original, the Prince recognized Cinderella even in servants clothing. He believed in love, he believed they were meant to be. Great rewrite, great story, great book. I just wish the stepmother and sisters ended up being servants like in the film with Drew Barrymore, Ever After, that would have been great!

This was yet another great twist on a classic. I was worried I wouldn't enjoy it as much as the last one because I had loved that one so much but yet again I was hooked. I can't get enough of these books. On to the next!!

I loved the book it was one of the best I had ever read and came in perfect condition

Being a tremendous Disney Cinderella fan, I had high hopes for this book. I was not disappointed!Initially I did not know what to expect from this book. The Prince was named Charles, which is most assuredly NOT his name in the animated Disney film, so I was unsure if this bode well for the rest of the story and if I would like the twists to come. Quickly after this minor slight to the original story, I was happy to see the beginnings of the book aligned true to the original story, including word-for-word dialogue. When the twists began, I was hooked and thoroughly enjoyed the story. Can’t wait to pick up another Twisted Tale!

Este libro ha sido sin duda uno de mis favoritos de la saga twisted tale. Recomiendo ampliamente que si tiene la oportunidad lo compren. Me mantuvo muy concentrada en la lectura y aún más el hecho de que es fácil de digerir. Sin duda no me espera quien iba a ser el villano de este cuento y mucho menos sus motivaciones. Algo que puedo decir es que pudieron ahondar más en la magia y las hadas madrinas.
