Beautiful book with chaotic heroine and broody hero!
"I leaned closer, until our lips were a hair’s breadth apart. “Why do you kiss me?” I sighed into his mouth when he kissed me with a sweet pull. “Because you’re the only woman who’s ever tempted me.” His lips brushed mine. “Because you love it.” The last one was soft, with a possessive bite. “Because every part of you is mine.” *sighs* Who doesn't love a dark and dangerous alpha that has slightly obsessive tendencies and a sweet spot for only his heroine? I knew The Maddest Obsession would be great but guys, it honestly exceeded my expectations. Oh my god. THIS BOOK. I cancelled my plans and finished this in one sitting. There was absolutely no way I was going to read a few chapters and wait to read it the next day. I needed my fix and oh god it was so so so so so worth the wait. I absolutely adore enemies-to-lovers trope and this was IT. You know when the guy uses a term of endearment or gives compliments in their native language but the girl thinks it's an insult due to the entire start of the relationship being all glares, pining, unresolved tension and hateful-but-not-really-just-sexy banter. But then the girl finds out the real translation later when the guy is at his most vulnerable? this reads like poetry to me. Absolutely makes my soul cry! ”Say something in Russian.” “Ty samaya krasivaya zhenshchina kotoruyu ya kogda-libo videl.” “What did you say?” “You’re annoying.” He actually said: You are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. I AM ONCE AGAIN SOBBING. This was such a compelling and wildly heartfelt read that took place over eight years. I put my phone on do not disturb and told everyone not to bother me. These beautifully addicting characters commanded my undivided attention and I'm just so happy about everything with The Maddest Obsession. It was a steamy, captivating and sweet slow burn romance and it was brilliantly paced. Christian and Gianna's journey to each other was explosive, obsessive and oh so beautiful. The chemistry was out of this world hot and their interactions were hilarious and I completely loved that. “I’ve thought about you so much you’re mine now.” It was a growl that lowered into a threat. “You’re lucky you didn’t let him touch you, Gianna, because I really don’t like it when people touch my things.” Danielle has become that author where I'll automatically buy without any hesitation. Her writing is outstanding and I need more of her books in my life. Whilst waiting for this book to release, I started her Alyria series and I just knew that anything she'd write, I'd completely adore. I would have loved an epilogue with both Christian and Gianna, rather that just him. Regardless, this book was a delight and I hope there is another in the series. Now I just have to wait for The Girl with a Tragic Ever After and my life will be complete. “How about because I love you, Gianna? Because I think I have since the moment I saw you? Because if you weren’t in this world anymore, I would find a way to take myself out of it?” The way he loves her??? It soothes my cold heart. PLEASE READ THIS AND YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT.

Obsession to the next level!
I really enjoyed this book…not as much as the first in the series but my oh my the tension, the darkness, the obsessions, the banter and the hate in this book was crazy to read. The way Christian is with Gianna is mind blowing and so captivating to read. I found myself getting lost a few times and I just have so many questions especially from the last bit which leads to the third book I’m guessing. I wish we got a little more on the pregnancy and baby as that is my favourite trope but I’m glad they made it to one another in the end.

This love is messy and intense and I LOVED IT!
Wow, I really enjoyed this romance and I think I've found a new favourite couple?! This story was darker than the first with both our H/H having experienced extremely traumatic childhoods (CW/TW: sexual and emotional child abuse). I was not prepared for the things this book had me feeling but it's safe to say that I became so invested in these characters and their HEA! The story is told from alternating perspectives and in two parts. The first part focused on the past when Christian and Gianna first meet, leading up to part two which focuses on the present day. I wasn't sure if I would enjoy such a long timeline but it helped to set the stage for their characters and their ensuing tumultuous relationship. Gianna and Christian have such an intense and playfully antagonistic relationship that is at first more hate and that very slowly starts morphing into something much more addictive. Once again, Danielle Lori is proving to be the queen of building up sexual tension because holy hotcakes, it was F-I-R-E! I wasn't sure I could handle the tension between these two as they circled each other and played slightly cruel but heated games but I was totally here for it. They both project such starkly contrasting images to what lies beneath the surface and it was an absolute delight to watch them peel back their layers and get to know each other. That said, I was a little disappointed that we didn't get Christian's story sooner but by that point, I was already so far gone for these two that it didn't really matter (much). I had a feeling when Gianna was introduced in the first book that there was more to her than meets the eye and I was right. Being the daughter of a mafia family is no joke but Gianna has really suffered at the hands of the disgusting men in her life. She comes across as this bubbly, carefree, party girl who has a problem with drugs and alcohol, but her reasons for doing those things were heartbreaking. She has been hurting and scared for so many years and has never felt brave until Christian comes to stand behind her. She was so easy to like and root for and I loved her big heart and strength! We don't get to see a lot of her friendship with Val but when we do I loved their sassy banter and these two really had me laughing out loud. I'm not a fan of the "surprise" pregnancy trope and when hints were first dropped that it could happen I was pretty annoyed by it but I thought it was handled well and it didn't feel like either H/H was being entrapped in a situation they didn't want to be in, especially since by that point we knew how they both felt. Christian is (unsurprisingly) her opposite. When I think of Christian I see a character that lives in darkness, as cliche as it sounds. He's messed up and does a lot of terrifyingly messed up things for almost no reason at all. He's not soft or easy and to be honest, I wasn't sure that I'd be into his extremely possessive attitude but he really grew on me and I ended up loving him! The way this terrifyingly stoic man doted so sweetly on Gianna and treated her so tenderly (at times) really had me melting! The more we get to know him, the more we feel just how much intense emotion radiates off his person and that emotion is reflected back to him from Gianna. Yes, much of the emotions were dark and obsessive but wow, the things they made me feel! Mhmm, needless to say, their chemistry was through-the-roof hot and when they finally get together, the sex was extra steamy. 🔥 Honestly, I just finished this book but I'm already ready to re-read it again because I loved these two and their romance.

Intriguing characters and a beautiful romance
"A sardonic voice breath left me. " I thought you believed it was just an obsession." "Haven't you heard? Love is an obsession. Some would even say... the maddest obsession.” This is one of the most beautiful, emotional books I've read. Gianna and Christian are one of my all-time favorite couples. If you've read the first book in the Made Series, The Sweetest Oblivion (which is also amazing), you'll know that we saw glimpses of Gianna and Christian there. I was so intrigued by Gianna and Christian in the first book and they didn't disappoint- I loved every minute of getting to know them in The Maddest Obsession. This book is divided into two parts, past and present. Sometimes I find that too much focus on the past can be boring but this was absolutely not the case. I loved the build-up to Christian and Gianna's present-day relationship: they have a connection and a history that dates back for years. Every interaction between them was so interesting, they have such great chemistry. I loved learning more about Gianna's character and her vulnerabilities- she's gone through a lot but I admire her strength and her resilience so much. She is one of a kind, truly an unforgettable character. Christian is one of the best heroes I've ever read about. The way he loves and cares for Gianna from afar is so beautiful. He's closed off and cold to everyone but Gianna- their dynamic is great and I love how she brings out the playful side to him. Together, they have so much chemistry and history, it was beautiful to see their story come together. I love books where the characters have just as much of an emotional connection as a physical one and this is something I've found to be true across all of the Made Series books. I found The Maddest Obsession to be an amazing read with an emotional, poignant romance. It deserves more than 5 stars, I loved every page.

Christian Allister is my new maddest obsession…
WOW. ok… so, i did not think I was going to enjoy this book as much as i did. I actually did it backwards and read book 2 in the series before I read book 1, but after loving this so much I’m going to go back and read The Sweetest Oblivion. I don’t even know what to say about them. Both Christian and Gianna are two people you wouldn’t expect to be together, they both had a very troubled and traumatic upbringing where they are left to deal with the demons of their past as adults. Their story is told in two parts. Part one is the past where we see them first meet. Gianna is married to someone else and then she remarried again. Both times she is in unhappy relationships and both times it was never the right time for her and Christian. That doesn’t mean that they don’t find other way to take all that tension out of themselves though. And no I don’t mean sex, get you mind out of the gutter. Their chemistry together is shown through their endless back and forth at each other. It is none stop and I really enjoyed seeing neither of them give in to the other. During this time though we also see Christian being and saying mean things to Gianna to get under her skin. As much as some of the things said are upsetting and shouldn’t be excused, I think it can also be explained as it was a way for Christian to get his frustration of the fact he couldn’t have Gianna out, he just directed it at the wrong person. We also see that in part one, Christian is going to therapy, he’s in it for a few years as well as there are a few times in the present we see him in the therapist office. And the reason for that is Gianna. This man has been so obsessed with something he couldn’t have he ended up needing to talk to someone, not that he actually shares how he feels with anyone. Also, in part one we see Gianna a lot at her low points. It could be said that she was an addict in someways as she turned to drugs and alcohol to drown out her demons and nightmares. However, that is not to say she is not a strong FMC, because she is. Gianna went through so much, as a child and and even in her adult life too. She never had the long end of the stick, finding herself always being dealt the short end. But she persevered through it all and we find that she eventually comes out on top. Now, with part two in the present. Christian and Gianna and thrown back together again. They’re still stand off-ish to one another after how things ended up between them in the past. But then everything changes and they give into their years long desire for one another. They end up entering some kind of relationship… one of the sexual kind. Here is where they realise they like each others company and they learn new things by observing the other. Even though it is just sex… it is a lot more. The little things in the way Christian treats her. His actions speak louder than the words that actually come out of his mouth. He’s obsessed with her and always has been, if he can’t have her then nobody else can. We then see that Gianna slowly gives into him and she realises that she’s fallen in love with him, but while he may know everything about her from observing her over the years. Gianna, in fact, knows little to nothing about Christian, maybe just except from the routine he does when stripping down before they sleep together. So she demands more from him but he’s reluctant. He finds himself backed into a corner, one where he either loses her or spills his past to Gianna… and he’s not willing to lose her. There is an unexpected surprise pregnancy at the end of their story. Now while i don’t particularly always like this trope and how it can sometimes feel like authors are dumping babies onto their characters as a form of ‘oh here a baby will make you happy’. I actually did in fact like this aspect because it was something the character wanted. We see in the book on a few occasions that Gianna had a desirable longing for a family, so I felt like this is something she deserved to finally get. As much as I enjoyed this book, I did find it to be a bit rushed. It was quite short and could have done with being longer to fully tell Christian and Gianna’s story to it’s full extent. But don’t let that deter you, it was a lovely read.

Inadequate and incomplete.
Throughout the book, there was a palpable sense of an enormous secret to be revealed, promising major repercussions. The recurring phrase, "I need to make her love me before she hates me," built up significant tension. However, the resolution came too abruptly in the final fifteen minutes, making the unraveling feel rushed. While the storyline had great potential from both sides of the characters, it ultimately fell short, recycling similar scenes without establishing genuine connections between characters. As a result, the character development felt inadequate and incomplete.

Christian & Gianna It took me a bit to get into this and to understand the timeline but the last 10% made it totally worth it. Christian was a tough but to crack but im glad he eventually opened up. Gianna really grew on me this book. I wasnt sure about her in the first book but I understand her alot more now. I am so glad they got their HEA.

I've read this book earlier this yeah, before i even created this new account, after reading The sweetest oblivion, i've become obsessed, pardon the pun, with the h, i was so sure that she'd get a book and the author didn't let me down. The h is just amazing in every aspect, she witty, fun, strong, perfect. And although she and the H are like night and day, they are so perfect for each other. Loved how the characters were so much more than what they seemed, loved the character development, and the cameos of the rest of the gang esp Seb.

I can’t stop thinking about Christian Allister
At first I thought this book was 4 stars but honestly? I haven’t stop thinking about Christian and Gianna, apart from Onyx Storm this is one of the two stories that I’m hyper-fixed, so I changed my mind and rating.

So good
This was everything! I loved everything about this book. The story, the characters, the writing. Please give me more! Right from the beginning I suspected that something bad might have happened to Christian and kinda figured what it was. I also knew that something happened to Gianna as well because of all her panic attacks and her fear of the dark. I loved this characters so so so much! Their love story was so amazing. I loved how it started with all the banter and funny comebacks, to them developing into something more physical, to then falling in love with each other. I really liked how it was written, the fact that she disarmed him even though it was little by little and was not an easy task. She was so spontaneous and so herself. She really couldn't care less what people though about her and that is so appealing to me, especially in this type of scenario where women are forced to marry someone they don't know and don't love and have no choice in the matter, or in anything else really. So it's really interesting to me, to read about a female protagonist or just a female character in general, who is not afraid to speak up and say what she wants without any qualms about it! I really liked Christian too. He's more levelheaded and more reserved than she was and I loved the contrast in both personalities and how they completed each other. The both needed the other and it was so amazing to see them realizing that. I loved this story, the epilogue was so sweet and made me want to continue reading about them. Sadly it was the end of their story, but I can say it was money well spent on this book lol. Go read it :)

I Can't Let You Go, Malyshka - 5 Stars
The Maddest Obsession in Made #2 Series features our brash and crude couple - a loud mouthed and drunkard Gianna and a cold hearted billionaire Christian. This story isn't a love story. It is a tale of passion and longing, patience and madness. It is the sweetest touch of obsession with brutal love. Their love knows no bounds, but they are so stubborn to admit this simple fact that things go haywire in an oblivion. A taboo romance where he can't have her, but he never stops wanting her. If he haves her, he'll never let her go. Ridicule me that! "Like the reflection in a neurotic person's eyes. It was madness. It was obsession." My book boyfriends are never cold hearted or say, have a ghostly demeanor, until Christian Allister. Danielle Lori has created his character with utmost perfection and complexity. I had to take large gulps of breaths to calm my racing heart and obnoxious mind who wanted to read on and on. I freaking worshipped this man. He had a quality presence unlike any other hero I have read so far. He was far too cryptic and eerie for my liking but I still couldn't stop loving his character. He was everything that is sinful and beyond reach. When he unwittingly finds himself drawn to Gianna, we get a whirlwind of timelines and situations that calls for loud screeches and maniac jumps. They lived to humiliate and insult each other at every given point of time, yet those cold nights did nothing to dim the raging attraction and a sizzling chemistry that electrified with their presence. Gianna - Let's say she wasn't my favorite character in the story. I found her too unpleasant for my liking but given the storyline, I couldn't imagine anyone more perfect than her. Heels and Cigars never solved a problem, and neither does one night stands. But for Gianna, Christian's aloofness might be it! He might be her salvation and damnation. One can never be so sure about these two... "Love is an obsession. Some would even say... the maddest obsession."
