It was highly reviewed on NY Times Wirecutter and I can definitely see why. Cuts paper into tiny pellet sized bits. No way anyone can find your personal info anywhere. Great features, for example it turns off when bin is full so you won't overfill and burn it out, it is much quieter than our old shredder and I can remove the shredded paper cannister easily from the front to empty. I don't wheel the base around, so that feature isn't really useful to me, but I really like that the shredded paper cannister is easily removed and reinstalled from the front. I've had it a bit over a month and have put it through its paces doing my annual file clearing. I always made sure to only run 1 bin full of shredding and then let it rest for at least 1/2 hour. Rated as 8 sheet shredder, but I found that heavier weight paper needs to be limited to 4 pieces at a time. Not a deal breaker for me, as it does such a good job overall. This machine is not silent but it is not too loud either. The noise level is within tolerance. I did a lot of research before buying this as I wanted a Shredder that wouldn't die on me very quickly and this one got ok reviews. It's a little more than I wanted to pay, but I went for it due to the size and type of shredder it is said to be. I wanted to shred my cards safely and I wanted something that could handle CDs too. The best thing about this shredder is the size of the paper when it is cut ... This really does a good JOB! The only bad thing about the design is that the draw is not easy to open. There is nothing to help you open it, so if you don't have fingernails or you have very soft nails, this will be a pain. Look at the photo of the side view. But also observe the photo of the papers I have already shredded with this thing... It's a monster of a shredder, I LOVE IT!! I also have the safety feature that it has. Seriously glad I bought this.
