One Single Quality Ingredient; One Singular Delicious Taste!
For the past two to three years, I have bought liquid bone broth in jars and cartons, most of which have had numerous added ingredients such as apple cider vinegar, numerous spices, and even sugar. So, I simply tried to always go with those with the fewest, healthiest, added ingredients -- but even their ingredient lists read like a novel, and the prices were ridiculous. So, I was floored when I discovered that bone broth powder was an option. And as with the liquid varieties, many of them have all kinds of extra additives and ingredients. Then, I found Left Coast Bone Broth Powder...The "ingredients" are: grass fed beef bone broth protein powder. Full stop. And no, they don't even add salt! So, despite there being a smaller option, I ordered the 2-lb size. The main reason I'd been looking for an affordable, "clean" bone broth option was because I break my water fasts with bone broth. Then, while following a carnivore style diet, I discovered that coffee, tea (herbal or not), and caffeine, in general, no longer worked for me. This discovery led me to discover that I was even more addicted to starting my days with a hot drink than with caffeine! In the reviews summary, there are complaints about the price of this bone broth powder and its "foaminess." Neither of these issues present problems for me. Though admittedly, the price is a bit steep for my budget, the cleanness and quality of this product are worth it to me. Additionally, it has a subtle beef flavor that I absolutely love! And it doesn't hurt that it's brown in color either. So, I mix one scoop of powder with some sea salt in about 14 oz of hot water and I no longer miss my coffee or tea. And to me, this tastes better than the broth in jars and cartons with all their unnecessary additives, e.g., excessive spices, and even sugar. So, yes, while this powder does "clump," even in hot water, using a hand frother, at low speed, is the solution. Though no specific instructions are provided, I add one scoop of bone broth powder with sea salt to about 14 oz of hot water, added about 2-3 oz at a time. This is literally my morning drink, and I'm just not interested in adding it to stews or anything else -- but that, too, is an option. Finally, while this doesn't simply melt into even hot water, and it takes a little extra time to mix, I definitely enjoy feeling like one bad, bone broth barista in the preparation! This is a clean protein source. It provides ample collagen. It's good for the gut, and helps to keep your joints juiced, which is extremely important for seniors! Add to all this the warm subtle beef flavor... I couldn't ask for anything more!

Fat soluble
I’ve been using this product for a few years now because of the quality and simplicity of the ingredients. Recently, I have been using it to help repair a shoulder injury with a diet of ground beef, curry, eggs, rice and raw milk. It has been extremely beneficial in strengthening the damaged tissues. As a long-time user, I hope that pointing out my experiences would be helpful. When I use this bone broth powder, I avoid dissolving it in any solution that does not contain fat of some kind, preferably butter or beef tallow. It seems that the powder readily dissolves in animal fat but has significant difficulty dissolving in water, requiring emulsion and other mechanical agitation. The best way I have found to do this is to toss the powder in with ground beef. This can even be done right before you apply the heat while the ground beef is still raw. It dissolves with very minor effort this way. It makes it taste better and more hearty too IMO. For this reason, I suggest adding it to cooking, especially with ground meats (I suppose lamb and pork might work just as well). Another way is to add it to a pan with water on a low heat with some fat. This takes much longer but can be done. If I were to guess why it dissolves faster with fat, I would guess that it’s because bone broth is inherently fat soluble.

Blends easily? It depends. Tastes good? It depends.
I was apprehensive about buying because the reviews were all over the board...it blends, it doesn't blend, it's clumpy, it mixes well, it tastes great, it tastes awful...here is the scoop. I have recently developed an aversion to the smell of meat, and the taste. I needed something to make up for my lack of protein, and I didn't want to rely on sweet protein shake mixes. When you open the container, yes, it does smell a little like a meat product, but not enough to make me disgusted. I initially tried it by boiling water and pour it over the powder to make a paste. I ended up with a clumpy mess. Then I tried taking that a putting it in a portable blender, which only has one speed, and made it frothy. I waited for the froth to dissipate, and tried it plain. EH. It was not bland, but had a slight "meat" taste, again not enough to disgust me, but I wasn't pleased. I did a bit of research on what to do with plain beef broth to make it palatable, and mostly you add salt and other spices such as turmeric, ginger, etc.. The second attempt I boiled water, put a cup of it in my Vitamix, put in the broth powder, soy sauce and some hot sauce, blended very slowly, and "Voila" I had a palatable cup of broth that wasn't frothy. Winner. Now I have a way to consume the broth somewhat enjoyably. It's possible that I might not need to boil the water before putting it in the blender, but, I like to drink mine warm, so I am not going to try blending without the hot water. It isn't quite as simple as "just add water" to get the broth, but it is definitely easier than making it from scratch. I realize that I am a bit more picky than most due to my recent aversion to meat, but I hope this helps someone who might be wondering about getting it.

Excellent, Safe Source of Protein
I love this protein powder! My family and I (four of us) go through about 1.5 tubs every month. We put it in our smoothies. It is a great addition because it ensures we get the right amount of protein and adds a great smooth texture to the smoothie. It does have a little bit of what I would describe as a "toasted" flavor, but the flavor blends well with a fruit and greens smoothie. I'm a Doctor of Chiropractic, so I monitor my family's health closely. For numerous reasons, our family largely avoids dairy. This means we don't use whey protein powder. We also try to source our foods from safe and healthy sources. If you are dairy free and want protein powder from a healthy animal, give this grass fed bone broth powder a try! It can be hard to get all the protein you need without utilizing some sort of protein powder. This product helps you get enough protein in a healthy way!

Great product
This is great for my keto diet with a 23- hour fasting. When I get hungry and start sugar and carb cravings I take half a scoop in some hit broth. The cravings are go e. I do use a blender because it tends to clump.

This foams and is beefy 🤢
I want to like this product. Taste is mild but it has a beefy taste and smell. I have tried to drink it by its self and mix it with other things, but I just cant do it. Kind of has a creamy flavor. Has little to no texture and is not thick. First off it foams! Like super foam. It is very hard to mix or blend. It almost refuses to blend. Little beads of the protein are in the foam and are difficult to dissolve. The picture below is of my shaker cup after 35 minutes of sitting. You can see the beads of protein powder. If you shake it to mix the beads of protein powder you get more foam you have to wait longer because you can barely drink the the shake. Even if you mix it slowly it clumps. The last picture is me reshaking it to mix the protein beads. It does state that it foams on the package, but I did not expect it to foam this bad. I have tried mixing it with other things to hide the taste and smell but it doesn't work. I can’t bring myself to eat/drink this. Maybe if I got a flavored version it would be better, not sure. But I am definitely not spending another $30 to find out! I am going to chalk this up as a learning lesson loss. 🙅🏻♀️

I never thought
This is the only bone broth powder I've tried, so I have no basis of comparison. I have, however, gone through every protein-based gluten-free powder imaginable, and there's a reason i've landed on this unflavored one. Who knew how hard it is to find a protein powder without fake stuff in it? Or just extra stuff that doesn't need to be there? That, that I'm allergic to most other protein bases, and the fact that it's gluten-free, is why I turned to this protein. I have reactions to so many things, and this is just very basic, dense protein. It's a plus that I don't have any reactions to it. I have found no disturbance of gut or allergies. Given that, it tastes like basic, dense protein. It has a marrowy flavor that I find best masked in a stronger flavor like coffee or chocolate. It's not a bad flavor, but it is ureic, persistent, and hard to augment if you're someone who needs variety. This powder WILL NOT dissolve in cool or cold liquid, so forget adding it to smoothies or cool juices. It dissolves best with a small immersion or bar blender, in hot liguid. However, if it's TOO HOT, it will turn into a rubber ball that could take out your garbage disposal. Even with the right temperature, it has a tendency to form tiny clumps that will dissolve as it sits (unlike some powders that never dissolve). When it dissolves under the perfect circumstances, the consistency is smooth and thick, but not gummy. It seems to blend best with a small amount of liquid at first, then once blended fill with the desired amount of liquid. All considered, I can't use this protein continuously. I'm not sold on the flavor or smell, and I do like variety. I want to be able to have cold protein shakes. But for now this is the only protein powder I've used that didn't have adverse health affects. I've not used it long enough to say that it promotes my health in any particular way.

Decent price, decent taste
I wanted to "beef" up my coffee a bit with protein. I use a frother, stevia and half and half. The taste is okay. I heat up a small amount up to get it really hot and froth it and get no lumps at all, then add the remaining coffee and ingredients. I really do like the froth that comes with it. That is the most satisfying part for me. I might try flavored next time to see if there is a significant difference.

Llevo poco tiempo tomándolo, no huele a nada
Llego a tiempo y bien.pero si tiene un sabor , digamos particular que no logro esconder con ninguna fruta o algo, me siento satisfecha, no me inflama como a alguien que conozco, quizás por que lo preparo desde la noche anterior.
