The Betrayer - Kindle edition by Judson, Daniel. Download it once and read it on your Kindle device, PC, phones or tablets. Use features like bookmarks, note taking and highlighting while reading The Betrayer. Review: Good read - I really enjoyed this serial. Daniel Judson created some entirely believable characters. The story line was good and each episode left me waiting anxiously for the next one. The only thing I kind of questioned was that the family members seemed to "batter" the one son for his former drug addiction. However, the ending was well brought about, and I would recommend the book to anyone who likes this genre of fiction (mystery, suspense). I still would like to know why the book was titled "The Betrayer" though. Anybody have any ideas? Perhaps the author would comment? Review: An Interesting Story Line (so far) - Episode 2 - John, an undercover FBI agent, is murdered and smeared as a dirty cop so that his reputation is destroyed. This serial is about his children Johnny, Catherine, and Jeremy looking into the circumstances behind the murder and trying to discover who was involved. Through the second episode, it appears someone trusted by the family is involved. We shall see. It is an interesting story line and reasonably well written. A lot of angles involved between the siblings, but they all respected and loved their father. The suspense is developed, sometimes a little too much, but the fianle will determine whether is was too much or not.

Great Read
First book I've read from Daniel Hudson and I really enjoyed it. It is one of those action stories that once you start reading, it grabs your interest and can't be put down! The writer manages to keep the reader wanting to know what's next. The ending is unexpected but the right one, in my opinion. I do recommend this book to those who like thrilling stories.

Okay book
This book just wasn't for me. I enjoyed the main characters and felt they were all very well developed. However while the plot was okay ... it was way too drawn out. Many points were repeated and could have been told in far fewer words. I found myself skimming and/or skipping paragraphs and sometimes pages.

I like the storyline but-
there just seems to be too much material that is not needed for the story. I can skip whole paragraphs or pages and not miss what is happening. A lot of authors seem to add details that do not really add anything to the mystery while others are able to keep you excited with every line of the mystery. But I am still interested in the final outcome. Further comment 1/22/13: I found the two additional episodes to the story to be well written without all the extra story lines that were in the original story. The further episodes keep my attention in every line and were exciting. I just want to keep knowing more and more what is going to happen. I like that Amazon has provided a novel that has episodes that keep the story interesting and moving. I like serial stories of this type.

THE AUTHOR CAN WRITE!!! IF YOU LIKE HIGH TENSION, FAST-PACED, FINE WRITING, THIS ONE IS FOR YOU.
I am A FAN! The author WRITES beautifully of violence, SECRETS, vengeance, justice, passion, family love, loyalty, betrayal, murder, crime bosses, FBI, cops, corruption...the stuff of great fictional life, and writes it in a way that keeps you up nights reading into the wee hours. I wrote of his "Gin Palace Trilogy," with the first book of the trilogy, that I didn't usually read books with heavy violence, and true that. However, I will read anything Mr. Judson writes, because, to be redundant, THE WRITING IS SO GOOD. The Betrayer hits all the spots listed above, and especially this plot is driven by secrets and family love gone awry, and the deadly journey to mend it all. A pretty story, oh no, but one that captures you from the first, and never lets you go. Just when you think you've figured out what is going on, you are turned upside-down, again. The resolution hits like a hammer, and the ending even, is unexpected. This author DELIVERS. I've just begun my next adventure with him: "The Avenged." If you've the love of high tension, surprises and secrets, this author's work is for you. If you can't take VIOLENCE, then best you skip it; I almost did with my first book of his, and am glad I didn't. Give his first book of "The Gin Palace Trilogy" a try, "The Poisoned Rose." It's a good place to start.

Very Exciting Book!
Loved The Betrayer!! It had many twists and turns to keep me intrigued. I found myself constantly hurrying to get back to read more! I loved the descriptions of the characters and exciting scenes they were put into! The vivid scenes were gruesome but needed to make this a GREAT read!!

ordinary
This is a convoluted tale involving a family with a dead father who still controls the lives of his three children, a daughter in the FBI, a son who followed in his military footsteps and then stumbled into a bad situation in Thailand which placed his life in danger but gave him the love of his life and a son who tries to shake his druggie past to revenge his father's death. The story goes on and on and ultimately you don't want to go along for the ride.

I have really enjoyed reading this fast moving storyline with all the characters and twists and turns and having to follow closely the storyline and I would thoroughly recommend the reading of this book to anyone who enjoys suspense.

Brilliant read, twisting plot line maintained suspense throughout, however did pre- empt surprise ending at half way point as logic dictated potential outcome. However great read. Is there a sequel in this - Russian Mafia Wars in NYC versus the loyal honest USA crime families. Just a thought!

Did not want to put this book down! You were kept guessing who the betrayer was for most of the book. Great characters and understanding of weaponry and close combat.
