Sunday Afternoons Adventure Hat

I've had this hat for probably about 10 years and wear it several times per week when I walk outdoors for exercise. It really blocks the sun (at least when the sun is mostly overhead) and is cool and lightweight. The size is easily adjustable, a feature that I really like. The brim also stays in place unlike those of other sun hats that flop up or down in the breeze. And the hat lasts and lasts. I ordered a new one just for variety. My old one is as good as new. Every part of the hat lies flat except the brim. When I pack the hat in a suitcase, I try to pack the brim over clothing with a slight curve to it. The brim doesn't fold.I ordered the "charcoal grey" this time because it was the cheapest at the time of order. The hat that arrived is actually all black and doesn't have the braid trim shown in the picture. I'm keeping it but wish I'd just paid more and gotten the white one.

I have worn a bunch of desert-style hats over the years. Most of them either had visors that were too small and didn't properly shade the face or the neck drape was too narrow or the fabric overall was too thick and hot or too thin and your head roasted. I ordered this hat with no expectations, as it was a brand i was unfamiliar with and couldn't find any research for it online.This hat arrived during the middle of summer, when I am usually on the high-altitude trails of Colorado. Some would think the weather on these trails would be cold, but on the contrary, the high-altitude sun is brutally strong, and uncovered heads and necks can be severely burned within a few hours, even with sunblock on. I wore this hat on the Colorado Trail for a week straight. The front visor and rear drape were just the right amounts of coverage without obstructing my view. The fabric and ventilation features kept my head from becoming a pool of sweat and was comfortable to wear all day long. Whatever sweat and insect repellant stains I did get on it were easily washed off in camp with biodegradable detergent.On another high-altitude hike, the winds were very strong and blew off my companions' baseball caps. But my adventure hat stayed on just fine with the comfortable chin strap. The strap never cut into me or chafed. I guess I sold a few adventure hats that day.I spend a lot of time in the outdoors and this hat comes highly recommended, especially by fair-skinned folks like my wife, who has one too.

These are the best hats out on the market in my opinion. I do not go outside without hats and these are light and block the sun light rays....EXCELLENT QUALITY...saves my eyes and my skin. LOVE these hats and I have several of them. I have bought and given these away as gifts and will continue to do so. I have two adventures and two sport types.....LOVE THEM!

This is a great hat for gardening. Have tried numerous styles and fabrics of hats for gardening in the intense, relentless sun of Texas and never found one that was not only comfortable and lightweight, but really shields your face and neck without being distracting.This one does it all. Nylon fabric is so lightweight that you forget you are even wearing a hat, and the vents actually work to keep air circulating. Better yet, i have a small head and most hats are too large and tend to either twirl around on my head and fall off or are uncomfortable when i tighten the back straps to make them fit. One size fits most never worked for me. Because this one is sized, i was able to buy the medium size hat and it fits perfectly without adjustment.Additionally there is a velcro tab in the back so you can fasten the back flap up if you don't need the extra neck protection all the time.Hesitated to spend so much for a gardening hat but glad i did. Worth every penny.

Being fair skinned means NEVER going out in the sun unprotected, so I always have to cover up head to toe. I have a few "regular" style sun hats and wanted something with color and protection on the neck. I'd heard about Sunday Afternoon hats so tried Amazon, who has everything I want. After reading reviews and finding this in my size ( I have a small head) AND in a wonderful Fresh Plum color, tried this one. It fits perfect for a small head 21 inches, with an adjustable tab in the back to tighten or loosen. The drape at the back does protect back of neck well and I got over feeling dorky quickly when I actually wore it a couple times. The brim does go around to ears and offers good shade for eyes. It could be a problem if you were hiking uphill, but one reviewer said it could be folded back, I haven't tried that yet. Chin strap is adjustable, material is silky, color is great.....Very Happy!

Love these hats, they are light, adjust to the head size perfectly (it took me a while to find hats for my kids because they have kind of a big head compared to standard measurements - one size fits all does NOT fit them - or me), has a hard visor that does not fall into the eyes, a flap that protects the neck, a strap that clicks in, and it dries super fast after getting wet (we use them in splash pads and pools). What's not to like !? I skipped the infant size and went straight for the child size for my 6 month old, fits great and will last longer.

Bugs and intense sunlight are no longer deterrents to taking a nice long walk on a summer day. The back of this hat provides neck protection and velcroes up if you don't need it. The brim works perfectly with sunglasses for excellent shading and eye protection. And this hat is as light as a feather with excellent breathe-ability. I always have it with me, because who knows when you'll come across a beautiful path or meet a friend who'd like to join you on a summer's day for a stroll or jaunt.

I absolutely love my hat, it isn't a pretty hat but boy does it do a good job. I live in Florida and have very fair skin, I am also allergic to most Sun Screens, this hat keeps 98 percent of the harmful UV rays off my face and neck, it also is cool because of the side vents. My son had to try really hard not to laugh at me the first time he saw me wear it, but he finally said it makes more sense than getting skin cancer. So what if I look like I am wearing a mushroom on my head, I LOVE IT!!!!!!

Very comfortable, light, packs well. A bit large despite following size guide but adjustable strap helps. Folding rear part enables sitting on a high backed chair without needing to adjust or remove hat. Need to use chin strap in even soft head-on breeze else hat flies off.Recommended it to my mom who bought one that folds into quarters for packing which is another improvement.

I bought this hat in the Chaparral/Charcoal colour. I ordered it before I had read the reviews on the Amazon.com website and after ordering it I read those and was very concerned that the quality would be poor. When it arrived I was glad to see that it was as good as two others I had bought from another vendor. It is made in Vietnam, same as the bad reviews had said. My other two hats were also made in Vietnam, not USA. In fact I was so happy with my first purchase (a light cream colour one with a black under brim) I was prompted to buy one in purple (which l also love). So I decided to buy this one in the dark neutral shade when I saw it had become available from the Global seller. Quality great, comfort excellent (adjustable), extremely light yet with a chin strap for security in high winds, brilliant UV protection (great for Rosacea sufferers) and stylish!! Well I am happy with it! Love it!
