WORKS. (What more do you want?)
Sightmark makes high quality products and this is one of them. I have several of these in different calibers and happy with them all.

Confirmed: Dead Centered Laser! 🤓
Buy more batteries bc, unlike other 'compression' types and other breech/boresight lasers I've tried, this boresight laser actually fits, allows slide to fully close (so barrel is in firing position), emitted beam is centered in bore and functions flawlessly. Only 1 beef: directions for batteries' positive/negative sides are reverse of proper installation - but, didn't damage the laser, so no harm, no foul.

A good tool for sighting in at relatively short distances.
I got another one of these for a 9mm luger pistol a few years ago, and I haven't used it much, but it worked well when I first got it, and still does. The main thing I use it for is making sure my laser targeting accessories are properly aligned with the bore at close range, "self-defense" distances (e.g., inside 20 yards), so I only have to use it about once a year or so, or less. Don't know how much I'd trust this particular tool for longer range sighting applications. I tested this .380 ACP version as soon as I got it, just to make sure the dot stayed in the same place relative to my laser sight no matter how much I turned the boresight in the barrel. It did, so the one I received is not "off," and works as it's supposed to. With that said, the MAXIMUM recommended sighting distance for this tool is "20-30 yards," so don't expect the tool to be super accurate at any distances beyond that. The tiny adjustment screws on the sides of the boresight are glued in place, because once the laser is calibrated at the factory, the maker doesn't want the end user screwing around with the alignment, and then blaming them because the tool's not working right. The battery life (it uses two tiny coin cells) is expressly rated at "less than one hour." This is not a "defect." A laser that can make a visible dot on a surface 25 yards away needs a lot of power, and will drain such tiny batteries pretty fast if you leave it on for any significant length of time. Thus, if you expect/need to use the boresight for long periods of time, just get lots of spare batteries. These little coin cells are cheap on Ebay. You can get a dozen of them for something like ten bucks. Bottom line: this boresight works just fine for a device in its price range, in every respect, if it's used as directed. If you know/understand its limitations; don't expect miracles, and don't happen to receive a "lemon" that got knocked out of alignment somehow before it got to you, you'll be happy with it. I know I am, and this is my second one.

Easy to use!
Very easy to use. Was seeing reviews of how inaccurate and hard to install it was. However I had a very different experience. It fit perfectly in my Glock 42. Also, I had my newly installed laser calibrated within few minutes. It’s possible some other guns out there will have trouble having this fit all the way in the chamber or not being able to close the slide all the way, but it seemed perfect for my gun. Overall, very pleased with it.

.380 ACP Boresight did not fit properly in a Ruger LCP II
I tried using the .380 ACP boresight in a Ruger LCP II, but when it was inserted into the barrel, the slide would not close all of the way. The boresight actually sat further into the barrel than a .380 round did, and is no bigger around than a .380 round, so I'm not sure what the issue was with the slide not closing. The laser alignment did not appear to be on target, but that may very well have been because the slide would not close. I give three stars only because I have two other models of this boresight and they seem to work fine.

Fragile Piece of Crap
I inserted the included batteries that didn't work. I ordered replacement batteries. I inserted the replacement batteries. The laser turned on. I inserted the laser into the chamber and hit the slide release. The moderately lax motion of the slide moving into battery caused the laser to turn off. I took it out and then fiddled with it and replaced the batteries two more time with fresh ones. The laser never turned on ever again. TLDR The action of the slide being released once (one time) broke the laser. Piece of crap, not worth buying.

Good brand I think they’re reputable I use them for my rifles as well so I grabbed it for my pistol.
Worked good to line up my 380 Glock. Pretty simple just drop in and release the slide slowly and then I am your site suggest the windage as a needed or elevation. I did mine at 15 feet I felt like that was a good distance average some people say to do 7 feet and then as you go back in should be a little higher up on the sites
