Lansky Super "C" Clamp

I really feel like this is a must-have, if you have the Lansky sharping kit. I did use the sharpening kit before without the clamp and you can certainly do it, but this makes it a heck of a lot easier. It seems to be well made, it holds the sharpening kit Holder well and really just makes it a lot easier. I'm finding that I'm able to sharpen the knives and a fraction of the time when compared to holding all of the pieces before with my two hands. Really is something I wish I would have purchased before.

I, like others have had a Lansky kit for quite a while. I got by with it. Then I saw this clamp mount and even while I was a bit apprehensive, I got it. I assembled it first off and noticed, since the finish on the clamp is like a heavy bead blast, that the threaded rod went in tight. This is ok as it is a one time assembly for me. But when I tried to used the guide assembly ton the top knob, it would not seat entirely. I used it once this way but finally figured out a remedy. I put some diamond paste on both parts and lapped them in. Wow, it fits perfectly now and is a dream to use. I always hold the rod up at the back to keep it steady. Additionally, all of the rods needed to be straightened out but that was easy. Just saying some things are kinda sloppy and could be addressed prior to shipping. Now I really look forward to using the system and it makes things easier. YMMV

Well worth the money, made the sharpener easier to use, holds strong

This tool is incredibly effective and of high quality. It’s incredibly easy to use and will securely hold on most workbenches. The blade holder is a bit tight out of the box, but it loosens with the first few uses.

If you use the Lansky sharpening system, this clamp is a must to hold your knife safely while you sharpen the blade. It easily clamps to a table or desktop (up to 2.25" thick), so you can securely hold the blade in place while you work with the stones. When not in use, it quickly detaches and stores away for the next time.

The Lansky Sharpening system is one of the best out there and really does work well. I have seen with this clamp my knife finishing better and with a mirror finish on the edge. I seen people complain that it doesn’t fit tight on the post provided on the C clamp or desk base (that can also be ordered, a base permanently screwed to a bench). That doesn’t matter at all as long as you’re using the guide rods, the fixed holes, and being consistent you’ll be fine. In fact I wouldn’t want it to fit on tight because you have to swap the knife clamp to the other side multiple time sharpening a single knife. I don’t really understand why people are complaining about that?Why did I give it a three out of five? first of all the C clamp isn’t large enough for many workbenches. I had a cut a small piece of wood to allow the clamp to fit under my workbench in my office (seen in picture above). Second reason is the threaded portion of the C clamp that actually clamps on to the bottom of any table is absolutely destructive. I would not use this on any furniture other than a work bench. This could’ve easily been solved with putting two pieces of rubber where the C clamp attaches to the desk or table.Overall I don’t want to have the base drilled into my table in case I have to use my bench for something other than sharpening a knife. That said I like the c clamp simply because it’s removable. Just like the Lansky knife clamp (sold with the kit). The whole system could be way better with a few pieces of rubber. ( Yes I realize they sell a knife clamp with rubber I do not understand why that’s not the original design???)Would I Would buy again, yes. Could it be better?
