It fits him very well but would be very small if I tried it on him when he is 3 years old, I have a feeling. It is perfect for my son who has a very large head for his age (90%), but do not think it would fit a child who was "3+" as the packaging suggests. It is the same color as the Strider balance bike we bought our 2 year old grandson, His mother said his head was 19 inches at his last check up. When I first put the helmet on it was too tight and I thought "uh oh" but then I realized the back was adjustable and I extended it almost all the way to the largest and it was perfect. I am only giving it 4 stars because the sizing does say 3+ and that is definitely misleading. I would say an average 2 year old could wear this until they are 3. It know these pics are not great.
