WD Purple is the only Hard Drive I'd consider putting in my NVR. Faultless and dependable.

Genuine Item, be warned many others are FAKE
This was a genuine item. Two I previously bought from elsewhere were FAKES, confirmed by Western Digital. If you're buying a WD hard disk make SURE you register it on the WD site BEFORE you open the packaging around the actual item, you can read the serial number through the pack, if it won't register it's a FAKE.

this drive is best used for security devices, the drive has a longer life cycle than the average drive and can also take a bit more vibration and rewrites.. when your talking western digital purple, your talking getting the info from the drive in the worst case scenario. most drives would fail to allow this.. so, you pay a bit more up front.. and remain happy..
