Do I just make jello recipe as usual? How do you make it creamy colored?** A: I use either 2 boxes of the small jello or one large box. If you want the brain to be a little firmer you can drop the amount of water used, or add one or two pkgs of unflavored gelitin. You can use almost anything to make it "creamy" - as long as the jello has cooled a bit. Milk, baileys, condensed milk.... I usually of the blue. (can't remember the flavor.) I then use green and red food coloring to make the jello black. Then I add 2 large containers of cottage cheese to the cooling jello mixture. (an actual brain is gray in color). Now, the last one I made didn't come out of the mold cleanly, but that was even BETTER!! I had a small tube of red frosting/gel and created a "hemorrhage" where it hadn't come out cleanly! I bought this for a neuroscience class I was teaching, and it was a huge hit. You do have to tinker with colors, but it really ends up looking exactly like a brain. The directions were great, and I have had no trouble getting the brain out of the mold because the directions advise to coat it with cooking spray. It sloshes right out, gross and slimey. The mold is not good quality. It is made of very thin plastic and mine cracked the first time I used it.
