The straps are attached very well and have a thick, durable strap material. I purchased a stroller bag from my stroller's manufacturer and was very disappointed in the quality. Based on the quality of this car seat bag, I wish that I would have purchased a stroller bag from this manufacturer as well. I was able to easily fit my Chicco Key Fit 30 Infant Car Seat and Base into this bag. It seems as though this bag is likely constructed for a convertible or forward facing carseat, but I was able to fit my infant car seat into it without too much of a struggle. I just popped the carseat into the base and then put the entire thing in the bag. I was able to easily carry the carseat on my back and push the stroller or pull the suitcase. The straps make it very manageable. We have a Britax Marathon Convertible Carseat and I tried it out in the bag...fit in easily. I took a previous reviewers advice and was able to an additional bag in with the carseat in the bag (i.e. a bag of toys/extra diapers that I didn't want to have to sacrifice other luggage space for). If you put anything inside, I would highly recommend not leaving it loose, just in case the zippers are opened/come loose during transit. I would put it in a bag and then probably loop the straps of the bag to the carseat somehow (i.e. loop straps through the carseat buckles). I did this and didn't end up with anything missing. Of note, at the time of this review, you should not have to pay extra to check a carseat nor does it count towards any free luggage allowance. I will tell you, at different airports it came out at different baggage claims. Once it came out with the normal baggage and once it came out in oversized items. If you can't find it with the regular baggage, check the oversized area. Edit: We've had this bag over 2 years, with two kids and three carseats and it's still doing great. Good build quality. Nothing fell off of the car seat and no scratches were on it. It fits our Graco Turn2Me with room to spare and has a lot of room left for height, so we threw in some diapers and a blanket in the bag too. The airlines do NOT charge you for checking a car seat. **Q: Will it accomodate a small infant carseat (Nuna Pipa)?** A: Yes definitely. I set my nuna pipa lx with the leg base and had even extra room for some diapers **Q: Does it fit the britax advocate?** A: We actually have the advocate and it DOES NOT fit the advocate. Thus the reason we returned this. The advocate is a monster car seat and we have yet to find something to fit. What we do is just use the bags that are provided at the check in counter, and we bring it with us to the gate. You can purchase a little hand roller to attach to the advocate to help you carry it to the gate. **Q: Does the Chicco NextFit car seat fit in this bag?** A: YES, it fits the Chicco NextFit. At first I thought it wouldn't, but after a bit of arranging and minor wrestling, it does fit. The NextFit should be in the fully upright position, squarely in center of the bag, and then zipped up. You may have to squeeze the sides a bit (near where the child's shoulders would be), but it will zip completely. It has made traveling so much easier. No longer hurting one shoulder and worrying about item shifting in a bag, this one is a game changer.
