All animals are losing their habitat, all for GREED! If you're going to live out in the country, expect to have wild animals. I have lived out in the country, since 1996, where there are Cougars,and Coyotes. In all that time I have only lost 2 free range chickens to Coyotes. It doesn't bother me, because they are hungry, and they eat them. It has never happened again. However, neighbor's dogs from a mile away, will come and kill 10 chickens for "fun" and leave them dead in the pasture...I would shoot the dogs, before I would ever shoot a Coyote. (I LOVE to hear them calling at night...especially the pups in the spring) My horse (16.3 NSH) was attacked by a Cougar, she had a large chunk torn out of her rear. (she was the "horse from hell" as my friends and family called her, and rightly so) I believe the cougar got the worst of it. I hauled her to the vet to be euthanized, he said he could fix her right up...and he did! Never had a cougar attack ever again. But I understand that I am living in THEIR house. Anyone that can't understand that, needs to go back to the city. I can't understand why we kill animals in their OWN homes. What will happen when there is NO more habitat for our precious wildlife?
