It did leak at the water faucet - profusely actually. About ready to return it, I decided to give it one more chance. It did leak again; however, against my better judgement, I used some channel-locks to continue tightening the thread collar at the faucet. After a few careful turns it did properly seal and did not leak any more. Be sure to install the supplied washer. Having gone through several different brands of timers over the years, I found this one to be absolutely the easiest to program. All the data is on one screen! Although it is not designed for really complex watering schedules, it is flexible enough for most applications. Just be sure to snug it down a bit. I cannot verify its reliability, and will update this review if longivity becomes an issue. Overall, I would highly recommend this product to anyone requiring a simple and effective solution to unattended watering.UPDATE: After using this timer for a couple of months now, nothing has changed from the original review, except that most of the display quit working, although the watering functions continued as programmed. I removed the device from the faucet and took the batteries out, and reinstalled the same batteries. And the display returned as normal. It had to be reprogrammed, but was not difficult, despite losing the instructions and not being able to find the manual on line. Where it joins to the faucet is OK, but the unit leaks from the next joint down...part of the timer itself. Water just spewing out of it. I figured it was a defective unit and, after complaining to Amazon, I was sent a replacement timer. The same thing happened so I sent both units back. Heck, sometimes you feel that it is your own fault and you are doing something wrong, but I then ordered a similar timer... Orbit 62061Z 1-Outlet Programmable Hose Faucet Timer...and it connects perfectly and, so far, is working like a dream. It's only been a little while but I would at least recommend the Orbit one over this one. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars They work but *by W***R on Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2019* I had to have new seed put down and was going out of town for several days and needed some automatic timers to keep the seed from drying out. these are easy to program and use but I could not use them directly on my outside faucets, they leaked a lot between the orange collar and the timer. Even though I had plenty of threads left, I could not get it tight enough to stop it from leaking in that area. I was about to send them back and figured I would try them at the end of a hose instead which did seem to eliminate leaking. I have had them about 2 weeks now and one of them the screen looks like a big ink blob in the middle of it, if it gets any worse I don't know if I will be able to change any of the programing because I won't see whats on the screen. It also periodically doesn't fully shut off the water and leaves the sprinkler dripping kind of fast which has produced a water run in the new dirt with seed.
