Review: incredible sound, Incredible headphones - What an incredible set of headphones. I will admit, I've never once considered myself to be an audiophile but recently I have been on a headphone purchasing kick. After several headphone purchases I'll run through some points of these fantastic headphones. The first thing most people should worry about with Bluetooth headphones is the weight and feel on the head. These headphones do not weigh enough to feel like you are wearing a heavy set on your head. I've worn these over the past week on my head for very long sessions of gaming, listening to music and watching television. On the head, they do not clamp hard around your head (yes, this has been an issue for me in the past with another set) so you will not suffer from headaches or get overall relief when removing them from your head. Let's discuss the sound quality with these headphones. First, these headphones sound great overall. Every high and mid is crisp. Not once have I felt that I am missing something when listening to music or watching television. Bass is also responsive but not strong enough to drown out all other sounds. One thing some people may have an issue with is that when you increase the volume on the headphones, they do not get loud enough to blow your ears off. I'm not complaining as I do not like music that loud, but I know some people do some crazy things with headphones, so I thought I'd mention they are loud, but not deafeningly loud. As far as sound leakage goes, I have asked several people around, and not one has said they heard noise. I'm sure this also depends on the level you listen to music, but for me no one has said anything. Discussing the Bluetooth features, I have not once had an issue with the Bluetooth. I have not had any random cut-outs and connecting to new devices is easy enough. These headphones will allow you to connect to a music device and a phone at the same time. This means you can listen to music streaming from a PC but receive a call (stops the music) and chat away. Depending on the phone connected, the headphones even allow you to reply back to messages. Callers say I sound perfectly fine and barely notice a difference when compared to talking on the phone directly. There is a rocker switch on the right earphone which allows you to switch tracks and pause/play the track. Also on the right earphone, there is a volume rocker which alerts you when you have reached max and min volume. On the left earphone you have the power button and a 3.5mm aux jack. The headphones come with a standard 3.5 mm cord from Sony to connect to non Bluetooth devices and I find there is no difference in sound quality when using the jack. Some headphones actually provide better sound through the jack, which means the Bluetooth sound has degraded. For this headset, there is none of that, so it goes to show the quality of the Bluetooth connection. Battery life is amazing for this set. Not once have I felt like I was cut short with battery life. In fact, not once have these died on me after several hours of usage. Charging isn't too bad, but the few times I've charged them I just plug them in overnight or when I know I will not be using them for a while. One of the things I liked best about these headphones is they are not flashy and do not scream for attention as some other headphones do. They come with a simple carrying pouch which keeps them from scratching or ruining the leather. Speaking of the leather, these have some incredibly soft leather around the cups and top band support. Overall, I think these are hands down an incredible pair of headphones. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending these to anyone. They have a 40mm driver and provide clear and strong sound. Range is decent when connected to a Bluetooth device. I can get out to about 20 feet before it starts cutting out. Hope this lengthy review helped anyone looking for a quality set of Bluetooth headphones.
Review: Extremely Comfortable and Good Value/Performance Bluetooth Headphones - The Sony MDR-10RBT are exactly what I expected, solid mid-level Bluetooth headphones for mobile use. They offer enough flexibility to be used interchangeably for PC gaming (CS:GO) when wires and high-fidelity is not absolutely required. The fact that they perform much better with their "passive-mode" using a 3.5mm cable is a welcomed plus. I had a change to compare these headsets side by side with the MDR-ZX750BN (Noise Cancelling) wireless headphones. The only feature that I'd liked to see from the MDR-ZX750BN on these would be noise cancelling. Everything else, especially comfort, the MDR10RBT is equal or better when compared to its cousin. Moreover, the MDR-ZX750BN would not work when playing Counter Strike in headphone mode, only hands-free headset; probably a driver issue. ~Build & Design~ The MDR-10RBT look and feel well built. Although the entire shell is made of plastic, the matte finish on the solid backing makes them look premium. After using it for several days, I still haven't seen any scratch on them. The silver pivot joint gives a slight look of metal, although it falls short of completely reproducing the "metal" look in full lighting. Still, the overall plastic parts look much better than other name-brands headsets costing three times as much. The leatherette used for both the headband and ear cushions is very soft and seem well attached. There's no outer stitching that might come undone or damaged. The ear pads are very comfortable to wear for several hours, even if you use glasses. I still haven't felt the need to take them off due to discomfort, unlike the MDR-ZX750BN model that would become painful after just 20 mins of wear. The only complain I have about the design of the MDR10RBT would be the padding on the headband might be slightly thin, and could use a little more material. Still, after a few minutes, awareness of the headband along with the rest of the headphones "disappears." No big deal really. ~Performance~ These headphones are placed at the entry-level of audiophile sets. Therefore, you should not expect them to compare with more expensive units. With that said, they sound extremely well for their price-point giving a good value in performance/cost. Having into account these are Bluetooth headphones, makes the package even better since you'll be hard-pressed to find other BT-enabled cans with such a meaty sound as these. At first, you'll find the sound somewhat hollow. That's to be expected having into account that they have a bigger acoustic cone than the comparable MDR-ZX750BN. After a few hours, the headphones will sound somewhere between a "jazz hall" to a "listening room" size. Vocals and mids are slightly warmer at default settings. Sometimes the low range might overwhelm/drown mids, therefore some equalizer tweaking might be necessary. Still, these aren't bass-heads headphones. Overall, these have a very nice sound after just a few hours of burn-in. I found myself enjoying some rock/grunge and jazz, rather than listening to (appreciating) individual instruments when listening to classical. On Bluetooth, they never felt under-powered, however keep in mind that using them in passive-mode with the included wire will give you a much better listening experience, which is always a plus. The Bluetooth feature worked as expected, and gives enough range to walk around in a 1,600sqf home without interruptions. The NFC feature is also very solid too. It comes in handy when the headphones are currently paired to a PC, and all it takes to be transferred over to a mobile device is to tap on them. Pros: - Very, very comfortable. - Good looking. - Excellent performance at price-point. - NFC works great when using between devices. Cons: - Might need a little equalizer tweaking depending on your preference. - Thin headband padding, but it doesn't affect long-term comfort.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful headphones, great sound, let down by poor materials
*by U***D on March 4, 2017*

These headphones were my favorites for as long as I owned them, until the material on the left earpiece started to separate from the sponge. The other negative is the lack of a hard-shell carry case. The sound quality, comfort, and ease of use are outstanding. Since the introduction of the iPhone 7, the availability of Bluetooth headsets has grown exponentially across all price ranges. Like with wired headphones, choosing the most suitable has become increasingly difficult with the availability of choice. One person's idea of value varies completely with the next person's. how does one compare a top of the range of $500 headset with those that cost $20. To simplify this decision, I have created a multi-criteria model, using 16 criteria. Each of the criteria is scored with a maximum of 10, and each of the criteria is given a weighting according to its relative importance. Some of the criteria have an arithmetic weighting, while others are simple arithmetic weight. To date, I have conducted evaluations on six different Bluetooth headsets. The score for the Sony MDR10RBT is 459 (out of a possible 674). The table below sets out the different headsets that have been tested, and provides a score for each. Below that is an explanation for each of the criteria. Model Type Price Score Link MonsterCube MC801 in-ear $20.99 413 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N5CQO0F Phaiser BHS-750 in-ear $45.99 487 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M3575QC Ghostek soDrop 2 over-ear $79.95 474 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M7PV6PN SoundPEATS QY7 in-ear $19.99 390 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PEPIWNI Photive PH-BTE50 in-ear $29.95 265 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QMSGGIO Sony MDR10RBT over-ear $134.99 459 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FJISZ8M Evaluations are naturally subjective. Technical products have numerous criteria, and these have relative importance. In looking at Bluetooth headsets, sound quality is far more important (at least for me) that looks. Some of the criteria, like sound quality and price that have values that change exponentially. This evaluation is part of a test using a number of different headsets from different manufacturers, with prices ranging from $20-$200. To provide equivalence, 16 criteria have been used, each with its own weight. Three of the criteria, sound, price and durability use a geometric scale. Although the model is complex, the result produces a single score for each headset, that simplifies comparison. Within each of the criteria there are factors that have affected the evaluation. These are set out in more detail below: Sound Sound is complex. I'm not an audiophile. I prefer the sound to be as close as possible to the original, rather than enhanced. That said, it should be rich. Because sound is so important, the waiting is on a geometric scale. Support When a product fails, the evaluation of the support is based on the response. Otherwise, the availability of an online manual and the technical details provided on the website is used as a proxy. Price Price is scored inversely, with low prices scoring more highly. The prices are ranked using $25 increments, and weighted geometrically. Quality This is the measure of the materials used, including the body, cabling, buttons, earpieces and packaging, where applicable. Durability The measure of durability is difficult to determine in the absence of more rigorous and extended testing. To some extent, durability can be determined looking at the quality of construction. Some of the products failed or broke, and this provides clear evidence of the durability. All the Bluetooth products are reliant on built-in rechargeable batteries, and this has a direct impact on the lifespan of the product. Only those products that have a cable as an alternative input can be expected to have an extended lifespan. Looks This is a very subjective criterion, and has been given a low weighting. Comfort There are a number of factors that affect comfort. Fit is particularly important. The in ear headsets are evaluated taking consideration that the earpiece need not be forced into the ear to ensure good noise isolation, and that even with extended wear, do not become uncomfortable. Ideally, the fit should ensure that the headset stays securely in place. Similarly, the over ear headsets should not cause any discomfort. Over ear can cause the wearer to feel uncomfortably warm in temperate climates, and this is also affected into the scoring. Ease-of-use Binding, switching on and off, and charging are all included in measuring ease-of-use. Battery life A 15 hour long distance flight is used to define the full score for battery life. Controls Buttons that are used to switch the device on and off, switch tracks, and bind are evaluated in this criterion. Convenience Ease of portability, and protection during travel was used for the evaluation of this criterion. Accessories Cases, additional earpieces, and fitting accessories are used to determine the score for this feature. Connectivity This refers to the Bluetooth connectivity, both in the initial connection, and interference from connectivity during extended play. Phone quality The Skype call testing was used to determine phone call quality. Noise isolation The ability of the headset to eliminate the sound of a full stream of running water with music playing at a moderate level is used to determine noise isolation. Secondary noise The noise that one can hear from somebody else's headphones defines secondary noise. The less there is, the higher the score. I hope that this helps in choosing a headset that works for you.
