## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this hold 4 cups?**
A: Interesting question.  Out of sheer curiosity, I measured it with water.  It holds three cups; the water is almost to the top of the pan (less than 1/2 inch).

**Q: is this made of borosilicate glass or the new (exploding) formula? I had couple of pyrex plates explode recently to thousands of sharp glass pieces...**
A: I can't confirm because mine has not exploded, and as such, I have not performed a thermal expansion test on a fragment. My understanding is that kitchenware sold under the Pyrex brand in the US has been tempered glass rather than borosilicate for years (based solely on reports rather than my own experiments). I have not experienced any Pyrex brand kitchenware explosions.

**Q: Is this the same as my 9" (23cm) Pyrex pie plate that my mother passed on to me???**
A: I think it is.  This replaced an d one we had that broke and we could not find o e anywhere in the stores. It is a shallow pie at @ 1.5 inches and 9 inces wide

**Q: Is this a knock-off?  Lots of commenters talk about it exploding.**
A: Mine worked fine.
