The harmonies, the idealism of the lyrics, the sheer innocent joy in the vocals, and the virtuosity of the musicians combine to make Kaipa one of the finest prog bands on the scene today. When this CD arrived, I was eager to throw it into my CD player as I went on a long road trip. The first time through I thought that it was fairly decent but not extraordinary. But with each additional play, I found more and more to like. Which is the best song? The whole album is so good, that is hard to choose because there is something about each that will bring you back to listen repeatedly. I was initially most attracted to World of the Void and Unique When We Fall. But A Map of Your Secret World, Screwed-Upness and A Sky Full of Painters each offer tremendous listening beyond the vocals. The title cut is the only instrumental and the final cut, Without Time-Beyond Time the mellowest. While it is true that the vocals may require some getting used to for newcomers to the Kaipa sound, Aleena Gibson has proven her value time and again as vocal partner of Patrik Lundstrom and as one who adds her own delightful touch to each song. Sattyg is nicely packaged in digipak form and is accompanied by a handsome booklet containing pictures, artwork, lyrics, and pertinent album information. If you enjoy prog rock, this is an indispensable addition to your music collection. Don't pass this by! Seriously though, I have purchased quite a few Prog Rock CD's lately and this one is the tops! I did the pre-order and all of the sudden it was not available. Thanks to some desertcart Market place third party sellers, I know have my own copy to play day in and day out. Giddy I am? Yes! The music just flows and takes you away to another place and time. Plenty of soothing tempos that all of the sudden have significant time changes and two voices to explain the tale. Aleena has a one of a kind unique voice and I find it refreshing to have a female vocalist in prog music, plus she is one nice looking lady to boot! Long tracks and plenty of prog rock medieval celtic jazz oriented songs played to perfection by these people to make you feel good that somewhere in this vast universe quality still matters!
